Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
April 23, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. April 23, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on April 23, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

1. Waive approval of Minutes of previous meetings.  (April 9 & 16, 2001).

2. County Engineer

1. Personel.
   

3. Recognize members of 4-H Clubs in attendance and those "shadowing" members of commissioners court.

4. Consider Resolution in support of County Government Week.

5. Receive report from Joel Hall, Texas Animal Health Commission Field Veterinarian, concerning Foot-and-Mouth Disease.

6. Recognize Designation of April 26, 2001 as Ilene Miller Day in Bell County in honor of her retirement.

7. Recognize Truett Tomlinson's retirement as Telephone Consultant for Bell County.

8. Recognize Stephanie Turnham, Bell County Museum Director, for her selection by the Texas Historical Commission as winner of the Glenda Morgan Award of Excellence in Museums.

9. Telephone line request for fax modem in Treasurer's office at Killeen Annex.

10. Claims.

WORKSHOP SESSION IN JUDGE AND COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM 9:30 A.M.

    1.  Workshop on gathering of redistricting information for county consultants.
    2.  Discuss pending legislation and consider resolutions in support or in opposition thereof.
    3.  Discuss census and redistricting.
    4.  Discuss facility planning and design, consultants, real estate and financing options.

NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of county issues) in the following activities during the week:  Conference of Urban Counties Meeting, Noon, April 25 at Doubletree Hotel, Austin;  Ilene Miller Reception 3-8 pm (Program at 4 pm), April 26 at EXPO Center, Belton;  Preparation of Bar-B-Que for County Employees' Bar-B-Que, 8 am to 7 pm (Serve Elected Officials at 5:30 pm), April 26 at EXPO Center, Belton;  County Employees Bar-B-Que (Preparation 8-11 am, Service 11 am-1:30 pm), April 27 at EXPO Center, Belton;  Redistricting Seminar, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm, April 28 at LBJ/Thompson Conference Center, University of Texas Campus, Austin.
