Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May 14, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. May 14, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on May 14, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Minutes of previous meetings.  (April 30, 2001).

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for the following items:  1) Traffic striping paint and glass beads;  2)The recycling of milled asphalt pavement into cold mix; and   3) Overlaying of roads in precincts #1 & #2.

    2. Consider approval of the final plat for Walnut Creek Estates Subdivision

    3. Personnel.

  3. Presentation by Belton Mayor Bill Holmes concerning Bell County's participation in Belton's 150th Birthday Celebration.

  4. Presentation of Juvenile Probation Annual Report for 2000 by Earl Lloyd, Director of Juvenile Probation.

  5. Update Report by Commissioner Stephenson and Mark Meyer, Director of Buildings and Maintenance, concerning electrical aggregation project with TCAP (Texas Conference of Urban Counties Aggregation Project).

  6. Consideration of Audit Engagement Letters for year ending September 30, 2001.

  7. Consideration of County Computer & Internet Policy as part of Policies and Procedures Manual.

  8. Consideration of Law Enforcement Memorial Resolution.

  9. Claims.

WORKSHOP SESSION IN JUDGE AND COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM 2:30 P.M.

     1.  Discuss pending legislation and consider resolutions in support or in opposition thereof.
     2.  Discuss census, redistricting, and gathering information for consultants.
     3.  Discuss facility planning and design, consultants, architect contracts, real estate and financing options.

NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of county issues) in the following activities during the week:  Police Memorial Day Ceremony, Tuesday, May 15, 2001, 10 a.m., Bell County Courthouse north steps;  Central Texas Republican Women's Meeting, Tuesday, May 15, 2001 6 p.m., Wildflower Country Club, Temple;  Bell County 100 Club Meeting, Tuesday, May 15, 2001 6 p.m., D Diamond  D Ranch, Belton;  Conference of Urban Counties Meeting, Wednesday, May 16, 2001, noon, Doubletree Hotel, Austin;  Swearing-In of Salado Mayor and Aldermen, Thursday, May 17, 2001, 6:30 p.m., Salado Civic Center, Salado.
