Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May 21, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. May 21, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on May 21, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

1. Minutes of previous meetings.  (May 14, 2001).

2. County Engineer

1. Consider approval of an Interlocal Agreement with the Troy ISD for seal coating of a parking lot and the priming and seal coating of a seal coating of a fire lane at the new school.

2. Personnel.
   

3. Presentation by Belton Mayor Bill Holmes concerning Bell County's participation in Belton's 150th Birthday Celebration.

4. Consideration of a Proclamation designating May as National REACT Month in Bell County.

5. Set Date of June 18 for First Meeting of Redistricting Advisory Committee.

6. Consideration of County Computer & Internet Policy as part of Policies and Procedures Manual.

7. Receive and consider Quarterly Treasurer's Report on Fund Balances.

8. At 11:30 a.m. - Receive and discuss Report from Gary Kimball of First Southwest Company, Bell County's Financial Consultant, concerning Financing Options for Capital Projects and Concerning the Creation and Implementation of County Road Districts.

9. Consideration of Resolution Authorizing Publication of Notice of Intention to Issue Bell County, Texas, Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of Obligation, Series 2001, in an Amount Not to Exceed $7,965,000.00.

WORKSHOP SESSION IN JUDGE AND COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM 
FOLLOWING REGULAR AGENDA

1. Discuss pending legislation and consider resolutions in support or in opposition thereof.
2. Discuss census, redistricting, and gathering information for consultants.
3. Discuss facility planning and design, consultants, architect contracts, real estate, and financing options.
4. Discuss and consider county medical insurance and retirement plan issues.
5. Discuss and consider scheduling of budget workshops and departmental presentations.
6. Discuss and consider personnel manning, contractual maintenance, and budget issues at Communications Center.
7. Discuss and consider road, subdivision, and engineering issues.

    1.   Discuss update on County Thoroughfare Plan with CTCOG Planning Staff.

NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of county issues) in the following activities during the week:  Fire Chiefs' Meeting Tuesday, May 22, at noon Judge and Commissioners Conference Room;  Hill County Community action Meeting, Tuesday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m., Lampasas Community Center, Lampasas; Central Texas Council of Governments Meeting, Thursday, May 24, noon, CTCOG Building, 302 East Central, Belton;  BellNET Annual Meeting, Thursday, May 24, 1:00 p.m., Judge and Commissioners Conference Room.
