Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
June 11, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. June 11, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on June 11, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Minutes of previous meetings.  (June 4, 2001).

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider public hearing and consider approval of the following traffic control devices:

      • Install a stop sign on Gooseneck Road at Hackberry Road, South-bound traffic only
      • Install a stop sign on Deer Creek Road at Big Elm East
      • Install a 30 mph speed limit on Riverside Trail.

    2. Consider final approval of the plat for Salado Prairies Subdivision.

    3. Consider final approval of the plat for Blackberry Estates Subdivision.

    4. Personnel.

  3. Presentation by Sen. Fraser to family of Judge James Russell a Senate Resolution honoring Judge Russell.

  4. Charles Jones, County Treasurer, to discuss and review Bell County's investment policy.

  5. Consider sponsoring infrastructure grant application of WCID#6 from Heidenheimer.

  6. Update from Eldon Tietje, MHMR Director, on mental health issues addressed by Texas Legislature and MHMR budget issues. 

  7. Consider approval of hiring architects for building projects.

  8. Budget Hearings.

  9. Claims.

WORKSHOP SESSIONS IN JUDGE AND COMMISSIONERS
CONFERENCE ROOM - 9:30 a.m.

  1. Subdivision plat requirements concerning water availability certificates. 

  2. Legislative Update.

  3. Redistricting.

  4. Facility planning, architects, design, and financing.

  5. Presentation to financial rating agencies.

  6. County insurance and retirement plan issues.

  7. Road, subdivision and engineering issues.


NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of County
Issues) in the following activities during the week:  Salado Republican Women Meeting, 
Thursday, June 14, 6:30 p.m., Salado Civic Center.
