Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
August 27, 2001
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at nine a.m. August 27, 2001, with the
meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on August 27, 2001, at 9:00 a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
Minutes of previous
meetings. (August 20, 2001).
County Engineer
Consider setting
date for a public hearing on the vacation of Schwald Road from 60th Street
in Killeen, to the west.
Consider
authorizing County Engineer to auction off the wooden bridge on South
Mockingbird Road over Cottonwood Creek.
Personnel
Recognize and honor Texas Ranger Johnnie Aycock on his
retirement after almost 19 years as a Texas Ranger and almost 33 years with
the Department of Public Safety.
Consider and approve FY 2001-2002 Bell County Budget.
Set and approve the Tax Rates for the Bell County and Bell
County Road Maintenance Funds for FY 2001-2002.
Consider additional fee of up to $4.00 in Justice Court
for Justice Court Technology Fund.
Hold Public hearing on Sheriff's Department Law
Enforcement Grant.
Consider awarding of contract for Bell County's Property
and General Liability Insurance.
Consider awarding of contract for Cellular Phones under
State Texan 2000 Program.
Consider resolution of support of City of Temple's request
to TxDOT for improvement to Northwest Loop 363.
Consider response to solicitation by Fort Hood to provide
housing for military prisoners.
Consider renewal for FY 2002 the Optional County Indigent
Health Care Program (CIHCP) Services.
Consider continuing to administer CIHCP according to
policies described in Texas Department of Health County Indigent Health Care
Program.
Consider approval of Official Bond of Frank R. Rodriguez
as Reserve Deputy Constable, Precinct 4.
NOTE: The
Court will recess it's meeting until 1:30 pm. At which time
they will reconvene for a meeting of Bell County Advisory Committee on
Redistricting; and designate proposal to be finalized by consultants for
consideration for presentation at Public Hearing and Adoption of same.
WORKSHOP to be held in conference room to discuss the
following: 1) Personnel policies concerning
attendance, part-time employees, and sick-leave pool; 2) Texas Indigent
Burial Survey from Tarrant
County; 3) Pavlik-Valdez economic development proposal; 4) Newly
passed legislation; 5) State
and County Redistricting; 6) Facility planning, architects, design and
financing; 7) Budget
Issues; 8) Engineering Road and Bridge, and Right-of-Way Issues;
Maintenance Issues.
NOTICE: Members of the Court may also attend and
participate (to include discussion of County
Issues) in the following activities during the week: (1) Groundbreaking of
VA Cardiology Center
at 9 a.m., Tuesday 8/28 at Temple VA Center; (2) TxDOT meeting on I-35 at
7 p.m., Tuesday
8/28 at Belton Sparta Road Elementary School; (3) Region G Water Meeting
at 10 a.m.,
Wednesday 8/29 at Waco Convention Center; (4) Killeen Airport Event at
5:30 p.m.,
Wednesday 8/29 at Killeen Airport; (5) TxDOT meeting on I-35 at 7
p.m.,
Thursday 8/30 at Temple College.
