Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
September 17, 2001
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at nine a.m. September 17, 2001, with the
meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on September 17, 2001, at 9:00 a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
Consider resolution
condemning the terrorist actions of September 11th, supporting the actions
of the President, and encouraging residents to support relief efforts by
giving blood.
Prayer by JAIL
Ministry Chaplain Harold Ellis for our Nation and for the families of those
killed or injured.
Minutes of previous
meetings. (September 10, 2001).
County Engineer
Consider approval
of the final plat for Rehbein Subdivision.
Public Hearing and
consideration of vacating or canceling Minute Order #296/83 regarding the
vacation of Lots 31-51, North Nolan Estates.
Personnel.
Consider audited
report on proceeds of Criminal Asset Forfeitures by Central Texas Narcotics
Task Force.
Consider awarding of Construction Management at Risk
Contract for Potts Building and Guffey Building Projects.
Consider participation in environmental waste turn-in
project with City of Temple.
Set date for Public Hearings on proposed redistricting
plan.
Present and discuss proposed versions of redistricting
plan with members of the Court and Redistricting Advisory Committee.
Claims.
WORKSHOP SESSION to be held in conference room to
discuss the following: 1) Computer use policy;
2) Redistricting; 3) New Legislation; 4) Engineering Department
Issues; 5) Subdivision issues;
6) Drainage Issues; 7) Personnel and benefits issues; 8) Facility
planning, architects,
construction, design, and bid issues; 9) Budget issues; 10)
Maintenance issues.
NOTICE: Members of the Court may attend and
participate (to include discussion of County
Issues) in the following activities during the week: 1) Joint Use Airport
Taxiway Ribbon Cutting
Ceremony at 10 a.m., Tuesday 9/18/01 at Joint Use Airport Site in Killeen;
2) Faith Based Initiative
Announcement at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday 9/18/01 at Commissioners Courtroom; 3)
Meeting of City of Temple
and Temple Area Builders Association on ETJ Issues at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday,
9/19/01 at City of Temple
Conference Room; 4) UMHB Ethics Program 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday,
9/20/01 at UMHB Auditorium; 5)
Redistricting Public Hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, 9/20/01 at Commissioners
Courtroom; 6) Redistricting Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, 9/20/01, at
Killeen City Hall.
