Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
October 09, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. October 09, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on October 09, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit: 


  1. Approve Minutes of October 1, 2001.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider approval and authorize County Judge to sign a contract with Roming, Parker & Kasberg, LLP, for the design of detention pond(s) for the Bell County Road and Bridge Yard.

    2. Consider approval and authorize County Judge to sign contract with CBS Environmental, Inc. for the preparation of required documents for the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System Permit for the Road and Bridge Yard.

    3. Consider approval of the final plat for Berry Road Subdivision. 

    4. Personnel.

  3. James Davis, County Agent, to introduce the new FCS (Family and Consumer Science) Agent, Linda Vogel, who will replace Ilene Miller. 

  4. Discuss authorizing foreclosure of property held in trust by Bell County for the purpose of writing Bail Bonds for "Breakout Bailbond," and authorize the employment of an Attorney to take the proper legal actions.

  5. Discuss and approve a resolution of the Court in compliance with Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as Amended, and specifically adopt a resolution pertaining to Redistricting of the Commissioners Precincts, the Justice of the Peace and Constable Precincts, and changes to the Election Precincts and Polling Places.

  6. Consider Interlocal Cooperation Act Contract between the Office the Attorney General of Texas and the District Attorney for Bell County and related actions. 

  7. Consideration of disbursement of Child Safety Funds.

  8. Claims.


WORKSHOP in conference room to discuss the following:  (1) Discuss Lease to Hill Country Transit District
with Royce Matkin on Old Bell County Barn in Killeen;  (2) Budget issues; (3) Redistricting and voter
precinct issues; (5) Engineering issues; (6) Maintenance issues; (7) Utility aggregate update; 
(8) Discussion concerning Christian Farms/Treehouse programs and introduction of Julia
Connor, Director; (9) Subdivision and Drainage Issues;  (10) Policies on travel and
expense reimbursements;  (11) Personnel Issues;  (12) CUC extension of efforts
to include federal issues. 


NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of County
Issues) in the following activities during the week:  1) Leadership Temple, County Courthouse, 
Tuesday 10/9/01 at 1 p.m.  (2) 1st Cav Change of Command at Fort Hood, Wednesday, 10/10/01 at
1 p.m.  (3) Salvation Army event on Thursday, 10/11/01 at 6:30 p.m. at 709 Clover Lane in Temple.
