Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
December 03, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. December 03, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on December 03, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve Minutes of November 19 and 26, 2001.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Personnel.

    1. Bell County Communications Center Local Hero Awards.

  3. Presentation by financial advisor, 1st Southwest, on the feasibility of Bell County Health Facilities Development Corporation Series 2001 Scott and White Hospital Revenue Bonds and consideration of acceptance and approval of the report/bond issuance.

  4. Consider awarding bid on Inmate Telecommunications System for the jail.

  5. Consider awarding bid on construction of Juvenile Facility.

  6. Consider approval of renewal of service contract with Dunbar Armored, Inc. for armored car courier service. 

  7. Consider annual approval of contribution rate for Texas County and District Retirement System (TCDRS) for 2002.

  8. Consider (TCDRS) Credited Service for Qualified Military Service (8 year requirement) Option.

  9. Consider appointment of Stephen Paine of Temple to fill vacancy on Bell County Child Welfare Board.

  10. Consider proclamation recognizing the induction of CW4 John Ashley Ward into U. S. Army Operational Testers' Hall of Fame.

  11. Drawing for prizes for United Way participation by Bell County Employees.

  12. Consider changes for election precincts effected by State Representative District #54 and State Board of Education Districts #5 and #14.

  13. Claims.


WORKSHOP MEETING after Court in the conference room to discuss the following:  (1) Right of way and drainage issues;  (2) Bell County floodplain management issues;  (3) Request to close Wells Lane;  (5) Utility aggregate update;  (6) Budget;  (7) Redistricting and voter precinct issues;  (8) Personnel Issues;  (9) Engineering/road issues;  (10) Maintenance and building issues;  (11) New Legislation;  (12) Senate Bill 7 Implementation Issues; CSC Contract Renewal;  (13) Building plans/security issues;  (14) Medical Insurance Update;  (15) TCDRS 2002 Budget Issues;  (16) Workshop on Juvenile Facility plans and contract issues. 


NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of County
Issues) in the following activities during the week:  (1) BellNET monthly meeting Monday, 12/3/01, 1 p.m.;  (2) Political filing event Monday, 12/3/01, 2 p.m. in Commissioners Courtroom;  (3) Temple Christmas Parade, Tuesday 12/4/01, 5:30 p.m. Downtown Temple;  (4) Communications Center Executive Board Meeting, Wednesday, 12/5/01, 8 a.m. Commissioners Court Conference Room;  (5) Temple College Open House, Wednesday, 12/5/01, 3 p.m. at Pactiv Conference Room at Temple College;  (6) Temple Chamber Business After Hours, Wednesday, 12/5/01, 5 p.m. at Mayborn Civic Center in Temple;  (7) CTCOG Regional Review Committee Meeting, Thursday, 12/6/01, 9 a.m. Commissioner Court Courtroom;  (8) CTCOG Annual Meeting, Thursday 12/6/01, 11:30 a.m. EXPO Center in Belton;  (9) Hill Country Transit Board Meeting, Thursday, 12/6/01, 2 p.m. EXPO Center in Belton;  (10) HOP Open House, Thursday, 12/6/01, 3 p.m. at 5200 South General Bruce Drive in Temple.
