Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
December 10, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. December 10, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on December 10, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve Minutes of December 3, 2001.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider approval of the final plat for Prairie Dell Estates Subdivision.

    2. Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for a Chip Spreader and four shredders.

    3. Personnel.

  3. Consider resolution of Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, accepting report of First Southwest Company pertaining to the issuance of Bonds; and providing an effective date in connection with the Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Scott, Sherwood and Brindley Foundation Project, Series 2001, Hospital Revenue Bonds.

  4. Receive annual report on activities of Bell County Child Welfare Board from Barbara Keetch, Board Chair. 

  5. Consider approval to apply for Victims of Crime Act Grant for Victims Assistance Coordinator for Juvenile Probation Office.

  6. Consider approval of Cooperative Working Agreement with Legal Aid of Central Texas in Support of applications for Criminal Justice Grants for Bell County Family Protection Project and Rapid Response System under Victims of Crime Act and/or Violence Against Women Act.

  7. Consider approval of $84,975.00 payment of Bell County's portion of costs of CDBG project with City of Belton that extended water and sewer service to the Communications Center and Road and Bridge Department.

  8. Consider approval of an Interlocal Agreement with the Counties of Dallas, Harris and Tarrant to retain the services of a real estate broker and issue a non-binding letter of intent to enter into negotiations regarding purchase of Austin property to serve as permanent location for Conference of Urban Counties. 

  9. Claims.

  10. At 11:30 a.m. the Bell County Commissioners' Court will reconvene their meeting at the North Bell County Annex, 1605 North Main Street, Belton, Texas, to hear the annual report from the Bell County Extension Service.



The Court then met in WORKSHOP session in the Court's conference room to discuss the following:  (1) Right of way, Subdivision, and drainage issues;  (2) Bell County floodplain management issues;  (3) Request to close Wells Lane;  (5) Utility aggregate update;  (6) Budget;  (7) Redistricting and voter precinct issues;  (8) Personnel Issues;  (9) Engineering/road issues;  (10) Maintenance and building issues;  (11) New Legislation;  (12) Senate Bill 7 Implementation Issues; CSC Contract Renewal;  (13) Building plans/security issues;  (14) TCDRS 2002 Budget Issues;  (16) Workshop on Juvenile Facility plans and contract issues.
