Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
December 17, 2001

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. December 17, 2001, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on December 17, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve Minutes of December 3, and 10, 2001.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider variance to the platting requirements provided in the Bell County Subdivision Regulations for the purchase of 1.0 acres of land by Armstrong Water Supply.

    2. Consider disposition of Street Name signs that the County no longer requires because the roads are now in the Village of Salado.

    3. Personnel.  (Recognize Henry Garza, District Attorney for his selection as Texas Representative of the Texas Association of Counties to the National Association of Counties as their District Attorney Representative)

  3. Consider adding December 31, 2001 to County Holiday Schedule.

  4. Consider approval of SB 7 Interim Defense Combined Interim Procedures for Bell County, fee schedules and procedures.  

  5. Consider renewal of Memorandums of Understanding with Legal Aid for Bell County Protective Orders, Juvenile Court Magistrates, and Parent Advocacy Program.

  6. Consider approval of grant application for $716,004.00 for continued operation of Central Texas Narcotics Task Force, with Bell County providing $204,096.00 in matching funds.

  7. Claims.



The Court will then meet in WORKSHOP session in the Court's conference room to discuss the following:  (1) Request by City of Rogers for the County to authorize and request City of Rogers to annex the right-of-way of FM 437;  (2) Update on presentations by vendors on financial and HR software packages, including overview by PeopleSoft vendor;  (3) SB 1074 funds for video cameras and recording equipment;  (4) Subdivision and drainage issues;  (5) Flood Plain Management Issues;  (6) Right of Way Issues;  (7) Request to close Wells Lane;  (8) Budget;  (9) Personnel issues;  (10) Engineering/road issues;  (11) Maintenance and building issues;  (12) Utility aggregate update;  (13) Medical Insurance update;  (14) New legislation;  (15) Senate Bill 7 Implementation issues;  (16) CSC Contract Renewal;  (17)  Building plans/security issues;  (18) TCDRS 2002 Budget Issues;  (19) Juvenile Facility plans and contract/cost issues;  (20) Update on redistricting process, maps, and voting precincts



NOTICE:  Members of the Court may attend and participate (to include discussion of County Issues) in the following activities during the week:  (1) Bob Chapman Retirement Lunch at EXPO on Tuesday 12/18/01, at 11 a.m.  (2) LEPC meeting at Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Center, 400 Indian Trail, on Wednesday, 12/19/01 at 9 a.m.;  (3) CTRW Christmas Party at Wildflower Country Club in Temple, on Wednesday, 12/19/01 at 6:30 p.m.;  (4)  Courthouse Christmas luncheon on second floor of Courthouse, on Friday, December 21, 2001, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
