Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
FEBRUARY  11, 2002

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. February 11, 2002, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on February 11, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve Minutes of February 4, 2002.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider vacating the drainage and utility easement between lots 15 and16 of Tanglewood Subdivision.

    2. Consider final approval of the final plat for King Meadow Estates Subdivision.

    3. Personnel.

  3. Consider Law Enforcement Contract between Bell County Sheriff's Department and Corps of Engineers for law enforcement at area lakes.

  4. Discuss V.G. Young Institute on County Government held February 5-7.

  5. Discuss update on North and East Texas County Judge & Commissioners Association Convention in Killeen in June.

  6. Consider approval of up to $6,000.00 in consulting services with Karen Dulaney Smith of Austin concerning analysis of Fair Labor Standards Act Requirements.

  7. Announce Scott & White Blood Mobile at the Courthouse, Friday morning February 15th. 

  8. Claims.



    Workshop session in Commissioners Court Conference Room:  1) Discuss with City of Temple their anticipated future jail needs and the future expansion plans of Bell County Jail;   2) Financial and HR Software/Hardware Implementation Issues;   3) Redistricting/Voting Precincts Map Update;   4) Right of Way and Utility Purchase Issues;   5) Budget Issues;   6) Insurance Coverage Issues;   7) Personnel Issues;   8) Engineering/Road Issues;   9) Platting issues and ETJ platting approval issues;   10) Maintenance/Building/Security Issues;   11) Medical Insurance Update and bid procedures;   12) New Legislation;   13) Chapter 388 of Health and Safety Code on energy efficiency;   14) Fuel Pump Installation status;   15) Long/Short Range Building Plans;   16) Juvenile Facility construction update;   17) Potts Building Construction Update;   18) Appointment Procedures. 


    WILL ATTEND:  The Court may attend the following meetings where County Business may be discussed;  1) Candidate Forum at Killeen Exchange Club at noon on Monday 2/11/02;  2) Holland City Council Meeting at Holland City Hall at 6 p.m. on Monday 2/11/02;  3) Leadership Temple at Commissioners Courtroom at 9 a.m. on Tuesday 2/12/02 and at 11 a.m. at Communications Center;   4) Carol Rylander meeting at McLane Corp HQ at 10 a.m. on Wednesday 2/13/02 and Luncheon for Rylander at Killeen Chamber at Plaza Hotel in Killeen at noon on Wednesday 2/13/02;   5) Morgan's Point City Council Meeting at City Hall at 7 p.m. on Thursday 2/14/02;   6) Academy-Little River City Council Meeting at City Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday 2/14/02;   7) Bar Association Candidate Forum at Commissioners Courtroom at 11:30 .m. on Friday, 2/15/02.
