Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
FEBRUARY  19, 2002

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at nine a.m. February 19, 2002, with the meeting to be held in the Commissioners' Courtroom, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on February 19, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve Minutes of February 11, 2002.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Conduct public hearing and consider approval of the replat of Oscar's Acres First revision.  Replat of lots 7-10 of Oscar's Acres..

    2. Conduct public hearing for the installation of traffic control devices:  Install a 45 mph speed limit on Oakalla Road, from Bell-Burnet County Line to 0.6 miles north.

    3. Receive the annual report for the Road and Bridge Department for 2001.

    4. Consider awarding bid for the sale of two railroad flatcars.

    5. Consider final approval of the plat for King Meadow Estates.

    6. Personnel.

  3. Report on Approval of Redistricting Plans by the Department of Justice.

  4. Claims.



    Workshop session in Commissioners Court Conference Room:  1) Draft of format for employee appraisal system;  2) Potential for combining Court Fine and Costs Collection services with OMNI Services;  3) Conference of Urban Counties property purchase status;  4) Recent Attorney General's Opinion on JJAEP issues;  5) Financial and HR Software/Hardware/Implementation Issues;  6) Redistricting/Voting Precincts Map update;  7) Right of Way and Utility Purchase Issues;  8)Budget Issues;  9) Insurance Coverage Issues;  10) Personnel Issues;  11) Engineering/Road Issues;  12) ETJ platting approval issues;  13) Maintenance/Building/Security Issues;  14) Medical Insurance update and bid procedures;  15) New Legislation;  16) Long/Short Range Building Plans;  17) Juvenile Facility construction update;  18) Potts Building construction update;  19) Appointment procedures. 


    WILL ATTEND:  The Court may attend the following meetings where County Business may be discussed;  1) Candidate Forum at Wildflower Country Club, Temple on Wednesday, 2/20/02 at 11:30 a.m.;  2) Reception for County Judge Jon Burrows at 5 p.m. on Wednesday 2/20/02 at Inn at Scott & White, Temple;  3) Conference of Urban Counties meeting at noon on Thursday, 2/21/02 at Doubletree Hotel, Austin, Texas.
