Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May 05, 2003
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., May 05,
2003,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on May 05, 2003, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
Approve minutes of April 21 and 28, 2003.
Welcome Rotary Study Exchange Group from Brazil.
County Engineer.
- Consider releasing Warranty Bond No. 929168712 (in the amount of
$4,454.00) and Warranty Bond No. 929168733 (in the amount of $15,372.00),
both from Continental Casualty Company, for the road and drainage
improvements in Walnut Creek Estates, Phase II and Walnut Creek Estates,
Phase III, Section 2, respectively.
- Consider acceptance of Letter of Credit No. 0390, in the amount of
$5,740.00 from First State Bank of Central Texas, for Mill Creek Springs,
Phase III, for road and drainage warranty.
- Consider final approval of the Plat for Riverscape, a Six Lot, 13.74
acre Subdivision, along Hartrick Bluff Road, in the E.T.J. of the City of
Temple.
- Consider rescinding the Interlocal Agreement with The Village of Salado
regarding subdivision plat review in the E.T.J. of The Village of Salado
(as approved on March 15, 2002) and approving the Revised Interlocal
Agreement enabling The Village of Salado to be the lead agency in plat
review within its city limits and E.T.J.
- Consider preliminary approval of the Plat for Prairie View Estates, a
61-Lot, 36.91 acre development off of Chaparral Road in the E.T.J. of the
City of Killeen.
- Recognize County Engineer Richard Macchi's installation as South Central
Region Vice President of the National Association of County Engineers (NACE)
at the association's 2003 Annual Management and Technical Conference in
Biloxi, Mississippi in March 2003.
- Personnel.
Receive report from Wiginton Hooker Jeffry architects on
projected costs for Jail/Courts/Sheriff's Office construction
project.
Consider instructing bond council and financial advisors
to proceed with Certificate of Obligation process and set final list of
projects and required proceeds.
Consider Proclamation naming May 2003 as Community
Action Month in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Board
and staff of Hill Country Community Action Association, Inc.
Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise for
proposals for health insurance coverage for Bell County employees for FY
2004.
Consider approval of equipment leases for Tax
Assessor-Collector substations for equipment for point-of-sale stickers
for auto registration.
Consider approval of Interlocal Agreement with Central
Texas Council of Governments for consultant services for Hazard Mitigation
Project in an amount not to exceed $4,921.64.
Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise for
proposal/bids for management/operational services for Bell County Juvenile
Residential Facility and authorize County Judge to contract for consultant
services and interim management/operational services pending consideration
of proposal/bids, if needed.
Consider approval and acceptance of FY 03 Safe &
Sober Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) by the Texas Department
of Public Safety through a federal grant program administered by the Texas
Department of Public Safety, focusing on Speed, DWI, and Occupant
Protection.
Consider approval of award of bid for fiber installation
at 111 Water Street building in Belton.
Consider approval of disposal of surplus AS/400 computer
equipment by seeking requests for bids or authorizing trade for more
current equipment.
