Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
June 23, 2003

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., June 23, 2003, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on June 23, 2003, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve minutes of June 9, 2003.

  2. Recognition of Precinct 1 Commissioner Richard Cortese's election as 2nd Vice President of North and East Texas County Judges and Commissioners Association. 

  3. County Engineer.

    1. Consider final approval of the plat for J-Bar Subdivision, a 1.02 Acre, One-Lot Subdivision off of Berger Road. 
    2. Consider final approval of the plat for Waterhaven Addition, a Three-Lot, 7.774 Acre Development off of F.M. 2484.
    3. Consider awarding bid for the construction of Right of Way fencing on Willow Grove and Darrs Creek Roads. 
    4. Consider accepting Letters of Credit in lieu of Maintenance and Performance Bonds for Crossland Estates and releasing Letter of Credit No. 552 in the amount of $255,163.93. 

  4. Personnel.

  5. Consider approval of Interlocal Mutual Aid Agreement for E.M.S. Services between the Cities of Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Killeen, and, Nolanville, and Bell County.

  6. Consider approval of Interlocal Mutual Aid Agreement for Fire Services between the Cities of Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Killeen, and Nolanville and Bell County. 

  7. Consider ratification of Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) Executive Committee allocation of Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) grant funds for regional interoperable communications and hazardous materials needs for CTCOG region. 

  8. Consider authorizing Juvenile Committee, to be appointed by County Judge as Chair of the Juvenile Board, to enter into negotiations with Right Turn Management for management services for the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center for short-term and/or long-term detention services. 

  9. Consider resolution in support of the City of Temple's request to the Texas Transportation Commission to initiate a toll viability study between the north and south intersections of Loop 363 and I-35.

  10. Claims.

  11. Notice that FY 04 Budget Hearings with Elected Officials and Department Heads will be held in Commissioners Conference Room from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23; from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24; from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25; from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26; and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2003.
