Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
October 14, 2003
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., October 14,
2003,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on October 14, 2003, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
Approve minutes of September 29, 2003.
County Engineer.
- Consider awarding bids for reinforcing steel, rip-rap rock, crushed
limestone base material, corrugated metal culverts, and uniforms.
Consider approval of the final plat for Terra Bella
Subdivision, a private, 47.59 acre, 26-lot development off of Armstrong
Road.
Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for
bids on fencing right of way on Triangle Road and Barnes Road, both in
Precinct 2.
Consider final approval of the plat for Treefarm
Estates, a three-lot, 15.011 acre development off of Sam-Neil Lane, a
private road off of F.M. 2484.
Personnel.
Recognition of the election of Commissioner Tim Brown of
Precinct 2 as Chair-Elect of the Conference of Urban Counties.
Receive report and presentation from Extension Agent,
Courtney Felder, and the Bell County 4-H Ambassadors.
Consider approval of additional members for Jail/Courts
Task Force:
- Bill Bryan of Belton-Morgan's Point, jail consultant and former Bell
County Jail Administrator
Diane Connell of Killeen, owner of Connell Chevrolet and
civic leader
Sonny Jarimillo of Temple, Senior Vice-President of
Extraco Investments and co-founder of Temple Hispanic Leadership Council
Ray Lott of Killeen, retired CPA and former Killeen
council member
Gail Peek of Temple, Vice President and General Counsel
of Wilsonart International
Kathy Peeples of Belton, owner of Belton Printing,
downtown Belton Business
Borah VanDormolen of Salado, owner of electric grill
manufacturing company and retired Army officer
Mike Williamson of Salado, retired Executive
Vice-President of Methodist Health Care Systems of Houston
Consider appointment of committee to study and make
recommendations concerning jail/courts processing systems.
Consider approval of the 2004 Bell County Resolution for
SB7 Indigent Defense Grant Program
Consider approval of expending $5,628.00 from Records
Management Fund for relocating and installing files for District Clerk's
office.
Consider approval and renewal of Memorandum of
Understanding with Lone Star Legal Aid to provide services as Juvenile
Court Magistrates upon approval by the Juvenile Court and Memorandum of
Understanding for Parent Advocacy Program.
Consider approval and renewal of Agreement with Lone
Star Legal Aid to process protective orders.
Consider approval and ratification of renewal of
contract between Bell County Expo, Inc. and Central Texas Hockey, L.L.C.
Consider approval of Order accepting settlement of claim
against the E.D. Etnyre & Company for $1,273.12 for chipspreader
malfunction.
Consider awarding bid for sale of the house and lot at
715 Dunbar in Temple.
Consider awarding bid for Uniforms for the Building
& Grounds Department and the Road & Bridge Department.
