Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
March  29, 2004

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., March 29, 2004, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on March 29, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

  1. Approve minutes of March 22, 2004. 

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Conduct Public Hearing and consider approval of the following traffic control devices:
      1.  Install 25 MPH speed limit on West Drive;
      2.  Install 30 MPH speed limit on Southerland Road, from 3rd Street in Pendleton to 0.1 miles south of    
           Vaughn Road intersection; 
      3.  Install 30 MPH speed limit on 6th Street in Pendleton;
      4.  Install 30 MPH speed limit on 3rd Street in Pendleton;
      5.  Install 30 MPH speed limit on Southerland Road, from F.M. 1237 to railroad tracks.

  3. Personnel. 

  4. Consider approval of Bell County Human Services/H.E.L.P. Center application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from City of Temple. 

  5. Consider approval of Bell County Human Services/H.E.L.P. Center application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from City of Killeen. 

  6. Receive from County Treasurer, Charles Jones, the 2003 FY Interest and Investment Report and the 1st Quarter 2004 FY Investment Report. 

  7. Consider Proclamation honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Betty Martin Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, which was chartered in Temple, Texas April 6, 1904. 

  8. Consider report from Nicolas Serna, Managing Attorney, of Lone Star Legal Aid on second year of operation of the Pro Se Clinic. 

  9. Consider approval of interim funding for Family Outreach and related budget amendment to partially replace funding cut by the state. 

  10. Consider approval of Interlocal Agreement with the Village of Salado regarding traffic control on West Village Road. 

  11. Consider budget amendments to reflect actual costs of National School Lunch Program and actual costs of Detention Center operations. 

  12. Reconsideration of amendment to EMS Service Contract with Scott & White Hospital initially considered on February 23, 2004. 

  13. Ratify purchase of Carnegie Building, that houses the Bell County Museum, after acceptance of bid by the City of Belton and approve budget amendment. 

  14. Claims. 

  15. Executive session on personnel issues.
