Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
April 11, 2005
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., April 11,
2005,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on April 11, 2005, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
Approve minutes of April 4, 2005.
County Engineer
Consider approval of the Preliminary Master Plat for Liberty Oaks, a
43.486 Acre Condominium Development in the E.T.J. of the City of Temple,
off of Sparta Road, in Precinct 1.
Authorize County Judge to sign an Agreement with TxDOT for the
Relocation/Adjustment of Utilities associated with the addition of lanes
to U.S. 190 from the Coryell/Bell County Line, to the Fort Hood Main Gate
in which TxDOT is initially requesting a contribution of $17,316.00 from
Bell County.
Consider setting a date for a Public Hearing regarding the
vacation/abandonment of a portion of Peach Orchard Lane, off of F.M. 2086,
in Precinct 3.
Personnel.
Consider Resolution designating the Week of April 11-15,
2005 as County Government Week in Bell County, Texas, and announcing the
Appreciation Bar-B-Que and Awards Ceremony for County Employees for
Friday, April 15, 2005 at the EXPO Center.
Recognize Ellison High School Advanced Government
Students attending Commissioners Courts meeting during County Government
Week, escorted by Shirley Casey.
Recognize Rotary Group Study Exchange Team from Mexico,
escorted by Judy Morales, and consideration of Proclamation recognizing
MARIA GUADALUPE, RODRIGO ZAVALA GONZALES, JUAN FELIPE SANCHEZ ROCHA,
JULIAN RODRIGUEZ HERNANDEZ, and PABLO ANTONIO SALDANA RAMIREZ as Honorary
Citizens of Bell County, Texas.
Recognize the Bell County Temple HELP Center and its
Director, Judy Morales, for its selection on April 5, 2005 by the Central
Texas United Way as the 2004 United Way Agency of the Year for Central
Texas.
Recognize Bell County Courthouse Employees and Campaign
Coordinator, Gloria Ramos, for Bell County's recognition with a 2004 Star
Leadership Award by the Central Texas United Way for increased
participation in 2004.
Recognize Bell County Museum and its Director, Stephanie
Turnham, for its selection on April 5, 2005 as a 2005 Design Award winner
in the Mitchell A. Wilder Publications Design Awards Competition of the
Texas Association of Museums for the Museum's "What a Trip"
advertising campaign shown in local movie theaters.
Recognize the Bell County Historical Commission
and its Chair, Ron Gates, and member, Weldon Cannon, for its selection by
the Texas Historical Commission to be recognized with the Distinguished
Service Award for outstanding preservation work accomplished in 2004, with
the Award to be presented on Friday, April 15, 2005 during the opening
session of the Texas Historical Commissioner's Annual Historic
Preservation Conference.
Consider approval of a Resolution in Support of Texas A
& M University - Central Texas and the passage of legislation by the
79th Texas Legislature to allow Texas A& M University - Central Texas
to operate as a stand-alone upper-level university upon reaching 1,000
full time students and to allow the issuance of Tuition Revenue Bonds not
to exceed $45 million for the construction of an initial significant
structure.
Consider appointment to fill a vacancy on the Bell
County Housing Finance Corporation.
Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise for
bids for the Depository of Funds for Bell County.
Consider awarding bid for the Killeen Annex Project.
