Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May  31, 2005

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., May 31, 2005, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on May 31, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Approve minutes of May 23, 2005.

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider renaming "Highland School Road" to "Five Wells Road."  

    2. Consider accepting for maintenance approximately 0.1 miles of road known as "Rivers' Bend Road," off of F.M. 2484, Precinct 2.  

    3. Consider adding the reconstruction of Shaw Road, from Stringtown Road to Stallion Road, to the Annual Work Plan. 

    4. Consider awarding bid for the processing of recycled asphalt millings into cold mix. 

    5. Consider Preliminary Approval of the Plat for Ryan Addition, a 16-Lot, 5.54 Acre Subdivision in the E.T.J. of the City of Nolanville, Precinct 2.   

  3. Personnel.

  4. Consider approval of Order implementing Burn Ban in Bell County.      

  5. Recognize Bell County Jail Administrator Bob Patterson upon his installation as President of the American Jail Association, a 5,000 member national organization of jail managers and practitioners and declaring May 31, 2005 as "Robert W. Patterson Day in Bell County, Texas." 

  6. Present Report of the State of Bell County, May 31, 2005.   

  7. Consider awarding bid for the purchase of a Trailer Mounted Boom for Building & Grounds Department.

  8. Consider approval of the granting of a 10 foot Easement and Right of Way to TXU Electric Delivery Company for access and service to a new electric service extending approximately 550 feet from Loop 121 along the east fence line of the EXPO property line. 

  9. Consider authorizing the waiving of all Bell County and Bell County Road & Bridge due back taxes and authorizing County Judge to execute appropriate documents under the Texas Tax Code regarding property deeded in trust to the City of Belton, as Trustee, for non-payment of taxes and due to EPA-imposed cost of cleanup to the original owner (Tax Account 100108), being 14 acres located adjacent and east of the cemetery on the north side of Taylors Valley Road, a part of the EPA Superfund site, and formerly owned by Rockwool Industries, Inc. 

  10. Consider approving the amendment of the Lease Agreement between Bell County and Central Texas Council of Governments and authorizing County Judge to execute appropriate documents concerning office space at 550 East 2nd Avenue, Belton, Texas, and to establish a termination date of November 30, 2005 and authorizing a refund of unused prepaid rentals. 

  11. Receive and file administrative Order regarding procedures of Bell County Personal Bond Office.       

  12. Claims.
