Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
August  29, 2005

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., August 29, 2005, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on August 29, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Approve minutes of August 22, 2005.

  2. Receive presentation from the Texas Association of Counties of the initial Bell Award, named for Bell County, in recognition of the county's superior long-term record of safety and significant history of savings on workers' compensation costs. 

  3. Recognize Bill Dugas, Ph.D., former Director of the Blackland Research Center, and newly designed Associate Director for Operations, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, Texas A&M University, for his service to Bell County, specifically for his service on the Board of BellNET. 

  4. In accordance with the laws governing such matters, the County Judge will present the FY 2005-2006 budget for Bell County and hold a Public Hearing thereon; the Court will discuss such budget; further in accordance with the Texas Property Code, the Commissioners' Court will discuss the tax rates for Bell County and Bell County Road District and hold the first of two Public Hearings on the tax rates and announce the date, time, and place of the second Public Hearing on the tax rates and announce the date, time and place for the approval of the budget and the tax rates.

  7. Consider approval of report on County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP) for the period of September 1, 2004 through July 31, 2005. 

  8. Consider approval of continued administration of the CIHCP according to policies described in the Texas Department of Health Indigent Health Care Program Handbook. 

  9. Consider approval of inclusion of Optional CIHCP services during the State of Texas FY 2006. 

  10. Consider approval of Change Requests Numbers 1-4 for Construction/Renovation Project at Bell County Annex in Killeen. 

  11. Consider approval of Change Order Number 1 for Construction/Renovation Project at Bell County Museum in Belton.

  12. Claims.
