Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
October 11, 2005
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., October 11,
2005,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on October 11, 2005, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider
approval of minutes of September 26 and 30, 2005.

County Engineer
-
Consider approval of a reduction ($295,000.00 to
$203,848.36) on Letter of Credit No. 493, First State Bank Central Texas,
for improvements in the Eagle Oaks At The Lake, Phase I Subdivision, and
extending the expiration to December 11, 2005.
-
Consider releasing the Maintenance Letters of Credit No.
1019 and 1018, First Texas Bank, in the amounts of $11,000.00 and $5,000.00,
respectively, for improvements in Cedar Oaks Estates.

Consider Final Approval of the Plat for Lonesome Dove
Addition, a One-Lot, 1.0 Acre Subdivision fronting on Dove Road, Precinct
3.

Consider payment to Elm Creek Water Supply approximately
$37,225.00 for the relocation of water line on the Dove Road project.

Personnel.

Consider status of Burn Ban and potential lifting or
continuation.

Receipt of 2005 Excellence in Going the Extra Mile Award
from the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas and County
Progress Magazine recognizing the Human Services Department and its Temple
and Killeen HELP Centers for work in providing intervention with basic needs
with a focus on recipients obtaining independence from public
assistance. The Award was presented to Bell County at the 83rd Annual
Conference of the County Judges and Commissioners Association in Lubbock on
October 6, 2005.

Receipt of Commendation Letter from the Texas Veterans
Commission commending the work of Michael Christ, Deputy Director of the
Killeen HELP Center, for the outstanding job done assisting Hurricane
Katrina evacuees from Louisiana.

Presentation and Report by Texas Cooperative Extension Bell
County 4-H Ambassadors and recognition of National 4-H Week, October 3-9,
2005.

Receive report on results of September 24, 2005 Bell County
Auction.

Authorize County Auditor to advertise for bids for supplying
fuel to Bell County.

Consider approval of application for annual SB 7 Indigent
Defense Grant from the Task Force on Indigent Defense in the projected
amount of $137,726.00 and designation of Authorized Official, Program
Director, and Financial Officer.

Executive Session under Section 551.074 of the Texas
Government Code to discuss Personnel Matters.
