Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
January 17, 2006

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., January 17, 2006, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on January 17, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1.  Consider approval of minutes of January 9, 2006 and clerical correction of minutes of January 3, 2006. 

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider authorizing County Judge to sign "Agreement to Contribute Funds" ($15,000) with TxDOT for improvements to F.M. 437, from F.M. 940 to S.H. 53. 

    2. Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for the following materials: Asphalt, Aggregate, Cold Mix, Hot Mix, Pit-Run Gravel, Lime, Cement, and Concrete.

    3. Consider accepting certain roads in Mountain Creek Ranch Subdivision for maintenance as gravel roads in accordance with the Policy Letter approved June 14, 2004.

  3. Personnel.

  4. Due to the Help American Vote Act requiring the repayment of lever voting machines, consider declaring the County's Lever Voting Machines surplus, consider donating a machine to the Bell County Museum, and consider authorizing the remaining machines to be sold by auction, sealed bid, or both.   

  5. Receive Annual Report of the Bell County Museum and consider appointments to the Board of the Museum.    

  6. Consider approval of Lease Agreement between Bell County and the City of Harker Heights for Bell County to construct and affix a communications transmission tower for use by the Bell County Communications Center upon a water storage tank owned by the City of Harker Heights to facilitate public safety and emergency communications. 

  7. Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise for bids for Auctioneering Services. 

  8. Consider approval of extension of Lease Agreement between Bell County and Quincy A. Ellis, dba Ellis Properties for property located at 2500 North Main Street in Belton used for office space for CSCD (Community Supervision and Corrections Department - Adult Probation). 

  9. Consider approval of Insurance Consulting Contract with ABC Consulting of Temple for consulting services to design specifications and prepare Requests for Proposals for Bell County Property, Liability, and other insurance products to provide other services including review, analysis, and summaries. 

  10. Consider approval of agreement and Statement of Work with SBI.enteris for professional services and project management/subject matter services regarding strategic initiatives at Bell County to include Collections Plan set out in Senate Bill 1863 and the Tech Share project in conjunction with the Conference of Urban Counties. 

  11. Consider amendment of Contract for Furniture Systems with Perry Office Plus under the Texas State Contract awarded on January 3, 2006 to reflect correct amount. 

  12. Consider approval of submission by the HELP Centers for Phase XXIV TERF Funding.
