Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May 15, 2006

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., May  15, 2006, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  May 15, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1.  Consider approval of minutes of May 8, 2006. 

  2. County Engineer

    1. Consider Final Approval of the Plat for Levy Estate, a One-Lot, Two Acre Subdivision off of George Wilson Road, in the E.T.J. of the City of Belton.  

    2. Consider abandoning the utility easement across the front of Lot Three, Block 4, Eagle Point Subdivision. 

  3. Personnel.

  4. Consider approval of a Proclamation declaring the week of May 14 through May 20, 2006 as National Police Week and May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and announcing the Annual Police Memorial Day Ceremonies to begin at 10:00 a.m. in front of the Belton Police Department/Court Building at 711 East 2nd Avenue.     

  5. Consider approval and ratification of the terms of the members of the Board of Directors of Bell County Expo, Inc. to be staggered three terms, with the current terms expirations to be:

    1. September 30, 2006 - For Bill Yowell and Red Randolph;   

    2. September 30, 2007 - For Mitchell Jacobs, Randy Ramsey, and Ronnie Goodnight; and

    3. September 30, 2008 - For Curtis Lockey and Jimmy Parker.  

  6. Consider approval of a Contract for Services with Dr. Warren Dunn, dba Bell Area Animal Shelter, LLC for Animal Shelter services in accordance with (1) Chapter 823 of the Health and Safety Code, Title 10 - Health & Safety of Animals, "Animal Shelters" and (2) Chapter 169 of the Texas Administrative Code, Title 25 - Health Services Zoonosis Control, "Rabies Control and Eradication."

  7. Consider approval of the waving of delinquent Bell County and Bell County Road District ad valorem property taxes on property located at 1010 Waco Road in Belton, formerly in the name of Aline Staples aka Arline Powers et al, being described as East Part of Lot 4, Block 1, White Addition to the City of Belton, Bell County, Texas being that property more particularly described in Volume 927, Page 476 of the Deed Record, Bell County, Texas, which was conveyed into Trust to the City of Belton by the Tax Appraisal District of Bell County at a public auction for foreclosure of tax liens, and consider authorizing the County Judge to deed, by deed without warranty, Bell County's interest in the property to the City of Belton for public purposes as a detention pond for drainage relief.
