Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
February 05, 2007
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., February 05,
2007,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on February 05, 2007, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider approval of minutes of January 29, 2007.

County Engineer
-
Conduct Public Hearing and consider approval of the following
Traffic Control Devices:
1. Install 30 MPH speed limit on Rummel Road, Lakeside Hills Subdivision;
2. Install 40 MPH speed limit on Rabbit Road, from Stringtown Rd. to
Beagle Rd.;
3. Install 35 MPH speed limit on Rose Lane, from the most southerly
intersection with the IH-35 Service Road to Stinnett Mill Road.

Consider Final Plat Approval for Garry Smith Subdivision No. 1,
a Four-Lot, 11.016 Acre Subdivision fronting on to F.M. 2601.

Personnel.

Consider approval of new position of Emergency Management
Coordinator, separate from Fire Marshall position and the designation of
duties/responsibilities, with both positions reporting to the Commissioners
Court, and appropriate budget amendment.

Consider, during the week of the Bell County Youth Fair,
approval of Resolution honoring National Food Check-Out Week of February 4-10
and National Food Check-Out Day on February 6, 2007, which marks the day the
average American will have earned enough income to pay for an entire year's
food supply -- it will take 37 days of income to pay for all the food the
average American will eat in 2007, and acknowledge that Americans spend 9.5
percent of their disposable income on food, which is the lowest rate the world
over.

Consider approval of Amendment No. 1 to Contract between Bell
County, as Owner, and Skanska USA Building, Inc., as Construction Manager to
set Guaranteed Maximum Price for construction of Bell County Jail Addition.

Consider approval authorizing County Judge to give Notice to
Proceed to Skanska USA Building, Inc. to begin construction of Bell County
Jail Addition.
