Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
February 26, 2007
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., February 26,
2007,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on February 26, 2007, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider approval of minutes of February 20, 2007.

County Engineer
-
Consider Preliminary Approval of the Plat for Walker Ridge,
Phase 3, a 13-Lot. 25.914 Acre Subdivision off of West Hillyard Road.

Personnel.
-
Introduce Dennis Baker, former Regional Liaison Officer with the
Emergency Management Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety, as the
Emergency Management Coordinator of Bell County.

Acknowledge and approve the selection and participation of
County Judge Jon Burrows in the 2007 Leadership Academy of the V.G. Young
Institute of County Government of Texas A&M University.

Consider approval of Bell County HELP Centers, Temple &
Killeen, to apply for the 2007-08 CDBG applications to the City of Temple and
the City of Killeen.

Consider approval for the Bell County HELP Centers, Temple &
Killeen, to submit local match funding request to TXU Corporation for utility
assistance for HELP Center applicants.

Consider setting April 21st as the date for the County
Auction.

Consider approving Kleinfelder as the qualified laboratory
testing company for the new Jail Addition and other County projects and
authorize entering into negotiation for contract for services.

Receive Preliminary Report on the Economic Impact of the EXPO
Center showing visitor spending, with a direct impact of approximately $8.5
million, a secondary impact of approximately $3.9 million, for a total impact
of about $12.4 million; and showing that the EXPO Center had 400,000 people
attending events (with 150,000 from outside the county), with 59,500 visitors
needing hotel room nights, generating approximately $1.6 million in hotel
revenue.

Re-announce that on Monday, February 26, 2007, at 6:30 p.m.,
at the Special Events Room of the Bell County EXPO Center a presentation and
Public Hearing on the Expo Master Plan and the Expo Center Board's request
that a County Hotel Occupancy Tax be used to fund the project will be held and
approval to take action, defer action or take no action will be considered on
the request. Meeting Cancelled as of 3:46 p.m.,
February 23, 2007.
