Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
May 07, 2007

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., May 07, 2007, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  May 07, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Consider approval of minutes of April 30, 2007.

  2. County Engineer


  3.  
    1. Consider approval of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for Site 15 in the Nolan Creek Watershed.     

    2. Consider Final Plat Approval for Twelve Oaks Estates, a Three-Lot, 3.0 Acre Subdivision off of Rose Lane in the E.T.J. of the Village of Salado.     

    3. Consider approval of an agreement with Kleinfelder to do a geotechnical investigation of a failed roadway in Mill Creek Springs.      

  4. Personnel.

  5. Recognize and honor Ron Gates, Chairman, and the Bell County Historical Commission on its selection to receive the Distinguished Service Award for County Historical Commissions from the Texas Historical Commission for Bell County's active and well-balanced preservation program.  This award was presented to Bell County and the Annual Historic Preservation Conference on April 13, 2007, and it was Bell County's 15th Award.

  6. Recognize and honor David Evans of Salado for his receipt of the 2006 Texas Historical Commission's George Christian Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award.  The award recognizes an individual for outstanding volunteer service to historic preservation efforts in Texas.  Only one award was presented at the Annual Historic Preservation Conference in April, and it was presented to Mr. Evans.  Mr. Evans served 20 years as the Bell County Historical Commission's Marker Chairman, where he guided scores of applicants seeking recognition of Bell County historic properties and persons through the Texas Historical Commission official State Historical Marker Program. 

  7. Consider approval and ratification of the appointment of Ms. Samantha Anderson of Coryell County to fill the unexpired term as Coryell County's Representative of the Central Counties MHMR Authority's Board of Trustees.

  8. Consider approval of the purchase and corresponding budget amendment for a replacement vehicle for Emergency Management Department.

  9. Receive report and consider approval of the results of the County Auction held on April 21, 2007.

  10. Receive reminder report from County Clerk Shelley Coston about the consolidation of voting locations for the May 12 Constitutional Amendment Election to five locations for both Early Voting and Election Day Voting.

        a.  Five Voting Locations
                1.  Belton - Bell County Courthouse Annex, 550 East 2nd Avenue
                2.  Harker Heights - Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Center, 307 Millers Crossing
                3.  Temple - Bell County Annex, 205 East Central Avenue
                4.  Killeen - Bell County Annex, 301 Priest Drive
                5.  Killeen - Killeen Community Center, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard

        b.  Remaining Early Voting - [Voters can Early Vote and any of the five Voting Locations]
                1.  May 7, 2007 thru May 8, 2007 (Monday and Tuesday)  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

        c.  Election Day Voting - [Voters can Election Day vote at any of the five Voting Locations]
                1.  Election Day, May 12, 2007 (Saturday)  7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
