Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
November 26, 2007

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., November 26, 2007, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  November 26, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Consider approval of minutes of November 19, 2007.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Consider Public Hearing and consider approval of the following Traffic Control Devices:
      1.  Install YIELD sign on Williams Road at West Village Road;
      2.  Install 55 MPH speed limit on Brewer Road, from FM 2484 to 1.0 miles south;
      3.  Install 55 MPH speed limit on Thomas Arnold Road from the south end of Brewer Road to 1.3 miles east;
      4.  Install 40 MPH speed limit on Thomas Arnold Road from West Creek Road to 0.6 miles east and north.
    2. Consider authorizing the County Engineer to purchase off of Buy Board one rubber tired loader and four backhoes.  
    3. Consider Final Plat approval for Cooper Subdivision, a One-Lot, One Acre Subdivision fronting on Krause Road, Precinct 2.
    4. Consider Final Plat approval for Maddux Subdivision, a Two-Acre, 10.34 Acre Subdivision in the E.T.J. of the City of Temple, fronting on Oscar Lane.
    5. Consider awarding bids for Grade 4 and 5 Aggregate for the seal coat program.
    6. Consider Final Plat approval for D.J. Fuller Addition, a 7-Lot, 4.153 Acre Development in the E.T.J. of the Village of Salado, fronting on Salado School Road.     

  3. Personnel. 

  4. Receive donation by John Galure to Bell County Museum of book on Chief Justice Danley. 

  5. Consider authorizing the purchase of panels, materials, and skid-steer loader out of Bingo Proceeds for use at Bell County Youth Fair and EXPO Center.  

  6. Receive report from Fire Marshall and consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor burning and consider possible continuation, modification, or termination of the Order.

  7. Consider approval of nomination to serve on Policy Committee of Conference of Urban Counties for 2008-2009.

  8. Consider approval of the Federal Annual Certification Report for the Central Texas Narcotics Task Force for the time period October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.

  9. Conduct Public Hearing on the adoption of an Order to continue to tax personal property in transit which would otherwise be exempt pursuant to new Sec. 11.253 of the Texas Tax Code.

  10. Consider approval of an Order of Bell County to Tax Tangible Personal Property in Transit Which Would Otherwise be Exempt Pursuant to Texas Tax Code, Section 11.253. 

  11. Claims.

            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
