Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
December 10, 2007

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., December 10, 2007, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  December 10, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Consider approval of minutes of December 03, 2007.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Conduct Public Hearing and consider vacation of a portion of Wilkerson Valley Road as depicted on maps and drawings provided.
    2. Consider Final Plat approval of Booth Addition, A One-Lot, 6.0 Acre Subdivision on Knob Creek Road, Precinct 3. 
    3. Consider releasing Letter of Credit No. 586, First State Bank Central Texas, in the amount of $10,000 for the maintenance of improvements in Rangers' Promise.
    4. Consider approval of variance to Subdivision Regulations regarding soils testing and consider approval of the Final Plat for Sunset Vista Subdivision, Section Four, a 16-Lot, 13.332 Acre Development off of Shaw Road, Precinct 3.    

  3. Personnel. 

  4. Consider approval of Joint Resolution and Statistical Information for Joint Primary and approval of 2008 Primary Election Services Contract by and between the Democratic Party Chair, the Republican Party Chair, and the Bell County Election Officer for the conduct and supervision of the 2008 Bell County Joint Primary March Election and Joint Primary Runoff April Election, if necessary.   

  5. Consider presentation of the Third Annual Willroy Pitrucha Award by District Attorney Henry Garza to an outstanding detective or investigator in Bell County who has demonstrated excellence in criminal investigations.

  6. Receive report from Fire Marshall and consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor burning and consider possible continuation, modification, extension, or termination of the Order and a finding that circumstances present in all or part of the unincorporated area create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.

  7. Consider a determination under Texas Local Government Code Section 352.51, Subsection C, whether conditions on rural acreage not under cultivation for a period of at least 12 months are extremely hazardous for the danger of fire because of high grass or dry vegetation.

  8. If a determination is made that conditions on rural acreage are extremely hazardous, to consider Order prohibiting the sale, use, detonating, ignition, or other use of fireworks classified under 49 C.F.R. part. 173.100 (r) (2) (10-1-86 edition), as "skyrockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins" in any portion of the unincorporated area of Bell County.

  9. Consider approval of Amendment No. 3 to the August 1998 Memorandum of Understanding between The Texas Agricultural Experiment Station - The Texas A&M University System and Bell County, extending the agreement.  

  10. Claims.

            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
