Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
February 11, 2008

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., February 11, 2008, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  February 11, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:


  1. Consider approval of minutes of February 4, 2008.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for the installation of pavement markings and raised pavement markers. 
    2. Consider awarding bids for the purchase of lime, cement, concrete, cold mix, hot mix, liquid asphalts, and pit-run gravel.
      1.  Liquid Asphalt.
      2.  Hot-Mix Asphalt.
      3.  Cold-Mix Asphalt.
      4.  Lime.
      5.  Cement.
      6.  Concrete.
      7.  Pit-Run Gravel.  
    3. Consider Final Plat Approval for Killeen I.S.D. Middle School 12, a 65.055 Acre Subdivision now in the City of Killeen.
    4. Consider releasing Letter of Credit in the amount of $10,000, Schwertner State Bank, for improvement in Crooked Creek Subdivision.
    5. Consider Final Plat Approval for Canyon Creek Crossing V, a One-Lot, 2.70 Acre Development in the E.T.J. of the City of Belton.
       
  3. Personnel. 

  4. Receive update from Workforce Solutions of Central Texas regarding its selection in 2008 as one of the 75 Best Companies to Work for in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine.

  5. Consider approval of Memorandum of Understanding with Central Texas Youth Services Bureau for services to At-Risk Children, Youth, Young Adults, and Families.           

  6. Public Hearing for public input on Bell County's 2008 Capital Improvement Project.

  7. Consider approval of authorization under Section 6.001, Texas Civil Practice and Remedy Code, to exempt the Bell County Attorney from having to post a bond in conjunction with filing for an extraordinary writ.

  8. Consider approval of appointment of Bell County representative to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee of the Central Texas Council of Governments.

  9. Consider approval of Change Order Number 005 on the Bell County Jail Addition project with Skanska USA Building, Inc., that does not increase the Guaranteed Maximum Price.

  10. Receive report from Fire Marshall and consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor burning and consider continuation, modification, extension, or termination of the Order and a finding that circumstances present in all or part of the unincorporated area to create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.  Current Burn Ban expires on February 12, 2008.  

  11. Claims.

            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
