Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
March 31, 2008
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., March 31,
2008,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on March 31, 2008, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider approval of minutes of March 24, 2008.

County Engineer.
- Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for the
purchase of rip rap rock and a 300 gallon, skid-mounted spray rig for
herbicide application.

Personnel.
- Update 2007 Census Population estimates.

Recognize Pct 2 Commissioner Tim Brown for his appointment by
the Texas Transportation Commission to the newly created I-35 Corridor
Advisory Committee. The Transportation Commission also created an I-69
Corridor Advisory Committee at the same time. Each 18-member committee
will advise the Texas Department of Transportation in the planning of two
priority corridors. The committees will meet beginning in spring of 2008
and will serve through 2009.

Receive report from County Clerk Shelley Coston and Election
Clerk Jana Henderson on Early Voting for 2008 Primary Run-Off Election.
- Early Voting is Monday, March 31, 2008 through Friday, April 4, 2008 in
person from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the following locations:
(1) Belton - Bell County Courthouse Annex, 550 East 2nd Avenue
(2) Harker Heights - Parks & Recreation Center, 307 Millers Crossing
(3) Killeen - Bell County Annex, 301 Priest Drive
(4) Temple - Bell County Annex, 205 East Central Avenue

Receive report from Fire Marshall and consider status of Order
Restricting Outdoor burning and consider continuation, modification,
extension, or termination of the Order and a finding that circumstances present in all or part of the unincorporated area
that create a public safety
hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning. Current Burn Ban
expires on April 16, 2008.
