Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
August 18, 2008
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., August 18,
2008,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on August 18, 2008, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider approval of minutes of August 11 and 13, 2008.

County Engineer.
- Consider releasing Letter of Credit No. 610, First State Bank Central
Texas, in the amount of $8,800, as Warranty of Improvements in Eagle Oaks at
the Lake, Phase II.
- Consider authorizing County Engineer to advertise for bids for a
replacement sports utility vehicle.
- Re-consider awarding bid for the hot mix overlay of the Exposition Center
parking lot and consideration of determination in writing that, under Section
271.905 of Texas Local Government Code, local bidder offers the best
combination of price and economic development opportunities, including the
employment of residents and increased tax revenues.
- Consider Final Plat Approval of Vilas Road Addition, a Two-Lot,8.60 Acre
Subdivision fronting on Vilas Road, Precinct 1.

Personnel.

Consider approval of request from Coryell County to approve,
in principle, the housing in the Bell County Jail of Coryell County inmates at
a time and cost to be coordinated in the future and authorizing the County
Judge to negotiate and sign an appropriate Interlocal Agreement.

In accordance with the Texas Property Code and other
applicable law, the Bell County Commissioners Court will discuss the FY 2009
Tax Rates for Bell County and Bell County Road District and hold the second of
two Public Hearings on the Tax Rates.

In accordance with the laws governing such matters, the County
Judge will present the FY 2009 Budget for Bell County and hold a Public
Hearing thereon.

Re-announce the date, time, and place for the approval of the
Budget and Tax Rates.

reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session whenever permitted by the Texas Open
Meeting Act.
