Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
August 25, 2008

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., August 25, 2008, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on  August 25, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Consider approval of minutes of August 18, 2008.

  2. County Engineer.

  3. Personnel.

  4. Consider continuing, modifying, or terminating Order Restricting Outdoor Burning -- Burn Ban, dated July 31, 2008.

  5. Consider approval of a Proclamation designating September as Shaken Baby Syndrome and Child Safety Awareness Month in Bell County.

  6. Consider approval of Order Special Election to be held on November 4, 2008 in Bell County, Texas for the purpose of electing State Representative District 55, Unexpired Term.

  7. Consider approval of Order of Municipal Election to vote for School Board Trustee in the Moody Independent School District to be held on November 4, 2008.

  8. Consider approval of Order of General Election to be held on November 4, 2008 in Bell County, Texas for the purpose of electing County and Precinct Officers as required by Article XVI, Section 65 of the Texas Constitution.

  9. Receive report on County Indigent Health Care Program for the period of September 2007 through August 2008.

  10. Consider approval of the inclusion of Optional CIHCP services during the State of Texas FY 2009.

  11. Consider approval of the continued administration of the CIHCP according to policies described in the County Indigent Health Care Handbook of the Texas Department of State Health Care Services.

  12. Consider approval of FY 09/10 State Case Registry and Local Customer Service Contract Cooperative Agreement between The Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas and Bell County, Texas.

  13. Consider authorizing the County Auditor to advertise for Request for Qualifications for both Architects and Engineers.

  14. Consider approval of the FY 2009 Budget for Bell County.

  15. Consider approval of the FY 2009 Bell County and Bell County Road District Tax Rates.

  16. Consider approval pursuant to Section 111.039(c) of the Local Government Code of the ratification of the property tax increase reflected in the budget.

  17. Claims.

            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
