Notice of the Meeting of
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
September 22, 2008
Notice is hereby given that a
regular meeting of the
above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., September 22,
2008,
with the
meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the
Bell
County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to
begin on September 22, 2008, at 9:00
a.m.
and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance
with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas. The
following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:

Consider approval of minutes of September 15, 2008.

County Engineer.
- Consider authorizing County Engineer to purchase two Asphalt Storage
Tanks off of Buy Board.
- Consider approval of a request to change the name of the development
Cedar Knob Estates to Salado Lakeview.
- Consider authorizing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to install an access
gate on County right of way at the Arrowhead Point Boat Ramp.
- Receive report on the results of the September 12-13 Joint Tire
Collection Event with the City of Temple.
- Consider authorizing the County Engineer to advertise for bids for the
construction of a 50' X 200' metal building to house equipment at the Road
and Bridge Department.
- Announce the County's intent to implement use of the Flood Damage
Prevention Court Order (approved on July 28, 2008) and Revised Flood
Insurance Rate Maps on September 26, 2008.

Personnel.

Recognize County Judge Jon Burrows and Pct 4 Commissioner John
Fisher for their completion of the Commissioners' Court Advanced Curriculum
and their recognition at the 86th Annual County Judges & Commissioners of
Texas Conference in Fort Worth on September 18.

Recognize the re-appointment by Governor Rick Perry of County
Judge Jon Burrows to the Task Force on Indigent Defense.

Receive updated report on cooperative Emergency Management
response to Hurricane Ike and the evacuation of Brazoria County residents to
Bell County and their return.

Investment report from County Treasurer Charles Jones in light
of current national financial industry events.

Consider continuing, modifying, or terminating Order
Restricting Outdoor Burning - Burn Ban, dated August 25, 2008.

Bell County Commissioners Court
reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session whenever permitted by the Texas Open
Meeting Act.
