Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
January 02, 2009

Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the above named Court will be held at 10:00 a.m., January 02, 2009, with the meeting to be held in the 146th DISTRICT COURT COURTROOM, at the Bell County Justice Complex, 1201 Huey Road, Loop 121, Belton, Texas, to begin on  January 02, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Call to Order - County Judge Jon Burrows.

  2. Pledges to the United States and Texas Flags - County Court-at-Law Judge Gerald Brown, Colonel, US Army, Retired.

  3. Invocation - Belton Councilman Joe Baisden.

  4. Introduction of the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, the Honorable Wallace B. Jefferson - District Judge Rick Morris.

  5. Swearing in of all elected and re-elected officials for Bell County by Chief Justice Jefferson:

        a.  State Officials:
            1.  27th District Judge  -  Joe Carroll
            2.  146th District Judge  -  Rick Morris
            3.  426th District Judge  -  Fancy Jezek
            4.  District Attorney  -  Henry Garza
        b.  County Officials:
            1.  Commissioners
                 (1)   Precinct 1  -  Richard Cortese
                 (2)   Precinct 3  -  Eddy Lange
            2.  County Attorney  -  Rick Miller
            3.  Sheriff  -   Dan Smith
            4.  Tax Assessor/Collector  -  Sharon Long
            5.  Justice of the Peace
                 (1)  Precinct 3, Place 1  -  David Barfield
                 (2)  Precinct 4, Place 1  -  Garland Potvin

            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
