Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
August 24, 2009

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., August 24, 2009, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on August 24, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Consider approval of minutes of August 17, 2009.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Consider adopting revisions to the Road & Bridge Department's Safety Awards Program.
       
  3. Personnel.

  4. Re-announce date/location of

    1. August 31, 2009 in Commissioners Courtroom for
      1.  Approval of the FY 2010 Budget
      2.  Approval of the FY 2010 Tax Rates for Bell County and Bell County Road District
       
  5. Consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor Burning, effective 9:00 a.m. August 17, 2009 until 10:00 a.m. September 21,2009.

  6. Consider annual approval of Memorandum of Understanding with certain area Independent School Districts (Killeen, Temple, Belton, Troy, Rogers, Holland, Bartlett, Salado, Academy, and Florence, Bell County Juvenile Board, and Bell County Commissioners Court regarding the operation and administration of the Bell County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (JJAEP).

  7. Consider annual approval of Memorandum of Understanding with Killeen Independent School District, Bell County Juvenile Board, and Bell County Commissioners Court regarding the Residential educational services for juveniles detained at the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.

  8. Consider approval of Memorandum of Understanding between Bell County and the City of Copperas Cove regarding use of property at 2819 Boys Ranch Road for maintaining a facility for County precinct voting and other County-related meetings. 

  9. In accordance with the law governing such matters, the County Judge will present the FY 2010 Budget for Bell County and hold a Public Hearing thereon. 

  10. Claims.

            Agenda items may be considered, deliberated, and/or acted upon in a different order than set forth above.


            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
