Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
September 14, 2009

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., September 14, 2009, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on September 14, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Consider approval of minutes of September 09, 2009.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Consider Final Plat approval for the Springs at the Escarpment Subdivision, First Amendment, in the E.T.J. of the City of Harker Heights, Precinct 2.
       
  3. Personnel.

  4. Consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor Burning, effective 9:00 a.m. August 17, 2009 until 10:00 a.m. September 21, 2009.  

  5. Consider approval of Amendment Number 3 to Agreement Between Bell County Texas (Owner) and Skanska USA Building Inc. (the Construction Manager) for Bell County Central Jail Renovation, and approval of Change Order Number 1, and approval of notice to proceed.

  6. Consider approval of Resolutions of Appreciation and Designation of September 14, 2009 as "LTG Rick & Sarah Lynch Day in Bell County, Texas," in recognition of the departure of the Lynch family and LTG Lynch's service as III Corps Commander at Fort Hood and Sarah Lynch's service to the families of Fort Hood.

  7. Consider approval of co-sponsorship with Texas AgriLife Extension - Bell County of Disaster Management Training for Water and Wastewater Utilities presented by the Department of Homeland Security and the Texas Engineering Extension Service to be held on October 20, 21, and 22, 2009 in Harker Heights.

  8. Consider authorizing the purchase of two FEMA trailers from the Federal Surplus Property Program of the U.S. General Services Administration for $6000.00 and the payment of transportation/setup expenses for use at voting locations and for other purposes.

  9. Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise for bids for vehicles approved in the FY 2010 budget.

  10. Announce Bell County Tire Collection event to be held September 24-26, 2009 at the Heidenheimer Auction Lot at the intersection of SH 36 and FM 93 and consider approval of event costs.

  11. Consider approval of CY 2010 and CY 2011 Holiday Schedules for Bell County.

  12. Consider approval of 2010 Sheriff's fees, Constables' fees, and other fees.

  13. Consider approval, in compliance with H.B. 3637, of County and District Clerk Court Record Preservation Fund Fee.

  14. Consider approval of submission of 2010 Indigent Defense Grant Application and designation of the Authorized Official, the Program Director/contact person, and the Financial Officer for the grant.

  15. Receive report of Order of re-appointment of County Auditor by District Judges.

  16. Receive report from District Judges of annual Order certifying the FY 2009-2010 County Auditor's budget.

  17. Receive report of Order from District Judges concerning FY 2009-2010 Court Reporter pay.

  18. Claims.

            Agenda items may be considered, deliberated, and/or acted upon in a different order than set forth above.


            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
