Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
June 28, 2010

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., June 28, 2010, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on June 28, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Consider approval of minutes of June 21, 2010.

  2. County Engineer.

  3. Personnel.

  4. Consider recognition of Lindsey Strait, Chair of the Bell County Youth Fair Scholarship Program, to introduce the 2010 Bell County Youth Scholarship recipients, who are receiving a total of $30,000.00 in scholarships.

  5. Consider approval of the appointment of Martha French of Killeen and Teresa Torres-Johnson of Harker Heights to the Bell County Child Welfare Board.

  6. Consider approval of Right of Entry for representatives of the City of Belton and KPA Engineers on and across Bell County property for survey work for the Miller Heights Trunk Sewer Extension project. 

  7. Consider approval of an Order Restricting Outdoor Burning upon a determination that circumstances are present in all or a part of the unincorporated area of the County that create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.

  8. Consider approval of Certificate of Substantial Completion for the Bell County Courthouse Addition at 1201 Huey Road in Belton.

  9. Consider approval and acceptance of a grant from the Governor's Office in the amount of $59,400.00 to the County Attorney's Office for "Improving Domestic Violence Prosecution Through Better Investigation."

  10. Consider approval and acceptance of FY 2010 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) in the amount of $13,786.00 administered through the Texas Division of Emergency Management of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

  11. Consider authorization for County Judge to approve Bell County participation/allocation with the Cities of Temple and Killeen in a Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) from the U.S. Department of Justice.

  12. Claims.

            Agenda items may be considered, deliberated, and/or acted upon in a different order than set forth above.


            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
