Notice of the Meeting of the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, for
July 26, 2010

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the above named Court will be held at 9:00 a.m., July 26, 2010, with the meeting to be held in the COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, at the Bell County Courthouse 101 Central Avenue, Belton, Texas, to begin on July 26, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. and continue thereafter until such business of the Court has been completed in accordance with Article 81.005 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas.  The following items of business will be discussed, to-wit:
 

  1. Consider approval of minutes of July 12, 2010.

  2. County Engineer.

    1. Consider approval of a 45 MPH speed zone on Brewer Road between FM 2484 to West Amity.
    2. Consider approval of a contract extension for Bid No. 11-08, "Pavement Marking and Raised Pavement Markers."
       
  3. Personnel.

    1. Recognition of Ron Heuss, Retiring Director of Human Resources, and special presentation by the Bell County Juvenile Probation Department. 
    2. Recognition of Tim Brown, Pct 2 Commissioner, upon his election to the Brazos Region G Water Planning Board.
    3. Recognition of Charles Jones, County Treasurer, upon his selection as Outstanding County Treasurer in the United States for 2010 and winner of the Victor E. Martinelli Award, given by the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers & Finance Officers (NACCTFO) at the Annual Meeting of the National Association of Counties (NACo).
       
  4. Consider authorizing County Auditor to advertise to sell by sealed bids surplus/decommissioned computer equipment from Technology Services Department. 

  5. Consider selection and approval of health and dental insurance for FY 2010-2011 for Bell County employees.

  6. Consider approval of Change Order Number 003 with TWC Architects for Historic Courthouse repairs in the amount of $24,640.60 for additional painting, water damage remediation, and miscellaneous repairs.

  7. Consider approval of Change Order Number 005 between Bell County and Skanska USA Building, Inc. for modifications/repairs to infirmary and front lobby areas in Central Jail with no change in Guaranteed Maximum Price.

  8. Consider approval of Change Order Number 008 between Bell County and Skanska USA Building, Inc. on Courthouse Expansion Project with no change in Guaranteed Maximum Price.

  9. Claims.


            Agenda items may be considered, deliberated, and/or acted upon in a different order than set forth above.


            Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session
            whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meeting Act.
