Commmunity Service

The Community Service is a community based program in which juveniles go into the community under the supervision of Bell County Juvenile Probation Personnel to complete various type of service. Juveniles are assigned to Community Services through Deferred Prosecution or Orders by the Court. The Service that is performed is for Nor-profit agencies that have been approved by the Juvenile Board. The type of service consists of but not limit to picking up trash, painting buildings, trains, trash cans, cleaning up general areas, creating trails and donating food. At present the agencies that are involved in the program. Consist of Parks and Recreations (Temple, Belton, Harker Heights and Killeen), March of Dimes, United Way, Food Pantries (Churches Touching Lives for Christ, Helping Hands Ministry and Killeen care Center), Texas Department of Transportation.

In the year 2001, 4677 hours were completed by 553 juveniles in the Community Service Program.
