AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 23rd day of October, 2000, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
MINUTE ORDER #326/00: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the
fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of October 10 and 16, 2000.
He asked if there were any corrections of additions to the minutes; there being none, the
minutes were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Traffic Control Devices
- MINUTE ORDER #327/00: The County Engineer presented the
matter of the installation of traffic control devices and the fact that the public hearing
on the same had been held previously. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the
Court unanimously approved the installation of the following traffic control devices,
to-wit: 55 mph speed limit on Featherline Road; 50 mph speed limit on Stringtown
Road from FM 3117 to Shaw Road.
- Agenda #2b - Mill Creek Springs Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #328/00: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the
Court unanimously approved the final plat of Mill Creek Springs Multi-Family Subdivision
and ordered the same filed for record.
- Agenda #2c - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #329/00: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and
made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #3 - Burn Ban
- MINUTE ORDER #330/00: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved lifting the burn ban in Bell County, Texas.
- Agenda #4 - Board Members - MH/MR
- MINUTE ORDER #331/00: Upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the appointment of the following members of the Board of Trustees of
the Central Counties Center for MH/MR, to-wit: Dr. Davis, Dr. Tate, and Dr.
Asbury.
- Agenda #6 - Texas Traffic Safety Program Grant Agreement
- MINUTE ORDER #332/00: Sheriff Dan Smith appeared before
the Court to discuss acceptant of a grant through the Texas Department of Transportation
to coordinate and operate a multi agency task force to reduce underage drinking and
underage drinking and driving in Bell County. Sheriff Smith reported that the total
grant was for $174,498.00. He also introduced Mr. Don Engleking who will be
coordinating the grant for the Sheriff's Department. After due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
BROWN, the Court unanimously approved such grant. All according to a
copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #7 - Appointment of members of Bail Bond Board
- MINUTE ORDER #333/00: Upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the appointment of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER to
represent the County Judge on the bail bond board and JUDGE BARINA
as the County Court at Law representative to the Board and further requested that the
Commissioners inquiry of the various Justices of the Peace who would serve on the Board as
representing the Justices of the Peace.
- Agenda #5 - Demographics Presentation
- MINUTE ORDER #334/00: JUDGE BURROWS made
a presentation to the Court of the Texas Demographics with relationship to Bell County
growth.
- Agenda #8 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #335/00: The County Auditor presented all
claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, by consensus, the Court
approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of record in the
office of the County Auditor.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
