AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 8th day of November, 2000, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #346/00:  It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and waived presentation of the minutes of the previous meeting at the present time.



  2. Agenda #2a - Salazar Subdivision

    • MINUTE ORDER #347/00:  Upon the recommendation of the County Engineer, on motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved the final approval of the Salazar Subdivision and ordered the same filed for record.



  3. Agenda #2b - Awarding bids for Road and Bridge Department

    • MINUTE ORDER #348/00:  Bids for equipment and materials were awarded upon the recommendation of the County Engineer as follows:
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for four motor graders  in the amount of $156,372 to Darr Equipment.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for hot-mix for Denman's Loop to Odell Geer in the amount of $57,240.00.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for reinforced steel to Alamo Steel for $0.2339 per pound for straight bar and $0.2613 per pound for bent.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for corrugated metal pipe to Texas Steel Culverts in the amount of $60,602.50.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for crushed limestone base material to each bidder and purchase to be made from the quarry that is closest to a particular job site.  Such bidders being submitted from Franklin Industrial; Killeen Crushed Stone; and Shallowford.
          The awarding of the bid for a corrugated metal box culvert was tabled pending further study.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for five dump trucks to Temple Freightliner in the amount of $45,392.00 each.
          Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for gasoline and diesel fuel to Big Chief Texaco of Killeen in the amount of $0.0210 per gallon for unleaded gas and $0.0210 per gallon for #2 diesel fuel.   



  4. Agenda 2c - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #349/00:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto.



  5.   Agenda #3 - Appointment to MHMR Board

    • MINUTE ORDER #350/00:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved ratifying the appointment of Coryell County's appointment of Douglas Smith as it's representative to the Central Counties MHMR Board.

      (The Court went into Executive Session to discuss personnel, as previously posted, and after such session, with all members aforementioned present in open Court, the following transpired.)



  6. Agenda #4 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #351/00:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  After proper review, by consensus, the Court approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.




                    There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
