AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 22nd day of January, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #29/01: It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of January 16, 2001. He asked if there were any corrections of additions to the minutes; the minutes were approved after amendment to Minutes Order #23 reflecting that the jail contract with Temple is approved to the end of the fiscal year of Bell County.



  2. Agenda #2a - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #30/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.



  3. Agenda #3 - Temple Tax Increment Zone #1

    • MINUTE ORDER #31/01: Upon motion of JUDGE BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved a corrective resolution for previously approved 1999-2000 Tax Abatement Agreements within the Temple Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zone Number one. All according to a copy of the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.



  4. Agenda #4 - Certificate of Appreciation

    • MINUTE ORDER #32/01: JUDGE BURROWS a certificate of appreciation to LT. JOHN SCHARF, Temple Police Department, for service as Interim Director of Bell County’s Communications Center.



  5. Agenda #5 - Annual Awards for Sheriff’s Office

    • MINUTE ORDER #33/01: Sheriff Dan Smith presented the Bell County Annual Sheriff’s Awards, all according to a copy of the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.


       
  6. Agenda #6 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #34/01: The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, by consensus, the Court approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.



    There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

    (The Court held a Workshop Session in the Judge and Commissioners Conference Room to continue reviewing the update of the Personnel Handbook and to discuss administrative procedures with respect to Commissioners’ Court.)
