AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 6th day of March, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
MINUTE ORDER #75/01: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact
that they had previously received copies of the minutes of February 26, 2001. He
asked if there were any corrections of additions to the minutes; there being none, the
minutes were approved as submitted. The minutes of the Sunshine Bridge Public
Hearing held on February 22, 2001 were waived at the present time.
Agenda #2a - Public hearing on traffic control devices
- MINUTE ORDER #76/01: JUDGE BURROWS opened the
public hearing on the installation of traffic control devices, to-wit: Installation
of a 60 mph speed limit on Old 95, from the City Limits of Temple to the City Limits of
Little-River Academy. He asked if there were any public comments; there being none,
the public hearing was closed. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the traffic control devices were
approved as submitted by the County Engineer.
- Agenda #2b - TxDOT Bridge Agreement
- MINUTE ORDER #77/01: The County Engineer presented the matter of the
County entering into an agreement with TxDOT for the replacement of structure #109 -
Backstrom Crossing (Baxstrom Crossing) in accordance with the 2002 off-system bridge
replacement program. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Judge to execute the necessary documents on
behalf of Bell County to enter into such an agreement for the replacement of structure
#109.
- Agenda #2c - Awarding Bids
- MINUTE ORDER #78/01: The County Engineer presented his
recommendations for the awarding of the annual bids for the Road and Bridge materials.
After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously awarded such annual
bids as recommended by the County Engineer, all according to a copy of the Engineer's
Memo attached hereto and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.
- Agenda #2d - Southlake Harbor Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #79/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the
Court unanimously approved the final plat for the Southlake Harbor Subdivision and ordered
the same filed for record.
- Agenda #2e - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #80/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status reports, the same being attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #3 - JPO Phone Line Requests
- MINUTE ORDER #81/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the
Court unanimously approved the phone line request of the Juvenile Probation Department,
the same being attached hereto.
- Agenda #5 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #82/01: The County Auditor presented all claims for the
review of the Court. After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of
record in the office of the County Auditor.
- Agenda #4 - Executive Session
- MINUTE ORDER #83/01: The Court then went into executive session for
the purpose of discussing the acquisition of Real Estate. No action was taken that
required reporting to the public at this time.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
