AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 12th day of March, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
MINUTE ORDER #84/01: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact
that they had previously received copies of the minutes of March 6, 2001. He asked
if there were any corrections of additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes
were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #85/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached
hereto.
- Agenda #3 & #5 - Internet Program for Tax Assessor Collector
- MINUTE ORDER #86/01: Mrs. Sharon Long, Tax Assessor Collector
appeared before the Court to discuss the matter of her office joining a pilot program to
register vehicles on a renewal basis on the internet. After due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved authorizing the Tax Assessor
Collector to join such pilot program and approved the installation of two phone lines to
the office for this purpose.
- Agenda #4 - Employee Handbook
- MINUTE ORDER #87/01: Mr. Ron Heuss, Human Resources Director,
presented the Bell County Employee Handbook and recommended its approval for use by Bell
County. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded
by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such
handbook. All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of
these minutes.
- Agenda #6 - Communities in School Program
- MINUTE ORDER #88/01: JUDGE BURROWS, presented
the matter of a Criminal Justice Division Grant Application for the Salado and Rogers
Independent School District and recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such grant application for each
School.
- Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #89/01: The County Auditor presented all claims for the
review of the Court. After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of
record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court met in Workshop session in the Conference Room and the
following subjects were discussed,
to-wit: 1) Discuss initial work on Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual for
Supervisors and Elected
Officials 2) Discussed pending legislation and consider resolutions in support or in
opposition thereof; 3)
Discuss census, redistricting and Citizens Advisory Committee; 4) Discuss policies
and
procedures on CountyIndigent burials.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
