AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 29th day of May, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #174/01: It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of May 21, 2001.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions; there being no corrections, the minutes were approved as submitted.



  2. Agenda #2a - Bids for Sale of Wooden Bridge on Acres Road

    • MINUTE ORDER #175/01:   Upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously authorized the County Auditor to advertise for bids for the sale of the wooden bridge on Acres road at Knob Creek.  



  3. Agenda #2b - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #176/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.



  4. Agenda #3 - County Auction Report

    • MINUTE ORDER #177/01:  Assistant County Auditor, Russell Williams gave a report on the County's recent auction.  He reported that the County had netted $54,716.68.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved ratifying all purchases of Bell County property.  All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.  



  5. Agenda #4 - Bank Depository Bid

    • MINUTE ORDER #178/01:  County Treasurer, Charles Jones, presented his report of the bid for the County's Depository Contract for July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003.  (A copy of such report attached hereto)  After due discussion, upon motion of  COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved the awarding of the County's Depository Bid for all Bell County Funds to Bank One of Temple, Texas.



  6. Agenda #5 - Health Insurance Consultant

    • MINUTE ORDER #179/01:  Ms. Jane Hays, Consultant of Medical Insurance and Mr. Ron Heuss appeared before the Court to discuss the employment of Ms. Hays as a Consultant to look at the County's Health Insurance.  Ms. Hays stated that she felt the study could be done for $3000.00 to $5000.00.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court authorized JUDGE BURROWS and RON HEUSS, to negotiate a service contract with Ms. Hays to do a survey on Bell County's Health Plan.



  7. Agenda #6 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #180/01:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same on record in the office of the County Auditor.



    (The Court then went into Workshop session and discussion was had on the following subjects, to-wit:  1) Pending Legislation;  2) Redistricting;  3) Communications Center Operations and budget;  4) Medical Insurance and Retirement Plan Issues;  5) Considered the following budget workshops, June 12th; Afternoon of June 13th; June 14th; Afternoon of June 15th; Afternoon of June 18th; June 19th; and June 20th.)



    There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
