AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 4th day of September, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the
following members of said Court present, to-wit:

Agenda #1 - Minutes
MINUTE ORDER #269/01: It being nine a.m. JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of August 27, 2001. He asked if there were any corrections or
additions, there being no corrections, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Walnut Creek Estates, Phase 3, Sec I
- MINUTE ORDER #270/01: The County Engineer presented
for approval the final plat of Walnut Creek Estates, Phase 3, Sec I and
recommended it's approval. After due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, seconded
by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously
approved such final plat and ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2b - Closure of Sullivan Road
- MINUTE ORDER #271/01: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the temporary closure of Sunshine/Strasburger Road from
Sullivan Road to the Little River. He reported that the landowner
along this portion of the road are requesting that the road be closed
during the time that they are replacing fences. Since the fence
construction is partially a result of the County's acquisition of right of
way; and since the family owns the land on both sides of the road, the
Engineer recommended approval of such request. Upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded
by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously
approved such request.
Agenda #2c - Southlake Harbor Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #272/01: The Engineer presented the
matter of final approval of the replat of Lots 6, 7, 9 and 10 of Southlake
Harbor Subdivision and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously
approved such plat and ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2d - Brenda Lane Letter of Credit
- MINUTE ORDER #273/01: The County Engineer notified
the Court that a Letter of Credit for the warranty of Work performed on
Brenda Lane Extension Subdivision had been received.
- Agenda #2e - Report on Road Damages
- MINUTE ORDER #274/01: The County Engineer gave a
report to the Court of road damage in the County caused by the recent
floods.
- Agenda #2f - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #275/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN seconded by, COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same
being attached hereto.
- Agenda #5 - Lifting of Burn Ban
- MINUTE ORDER #276/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the
Court unanimously approved to lift the burn ban in Bell County.
- Agenda #3 - Sick Leave Policy
- MINUTE ORDER #277/01: Human Resources Director, Ron
Heuss, presented the sick leave policy for all County Employees and after
due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved the same, all according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #4 - Part-Time Worker Policy
- MINUTE ORDER #278/01: Human Resources Director, Ron
Heuss, presented the revised part-time worker policy and after due
discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the same, all according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #6 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #279/01: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. Upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.
All according to a copy of the same on record in the office of the
County Auditor.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
(The Court then went into WORKSHOP Session in the conference room and the
following was discussed,
but
action taken, to-wit: 1) Employee sick leave pool policy; 2)
Seasonal/contingent worker policy; and
3) Placement of new hires on salary schedule policy.)
(On Wednesday, September 5, 2001, the Court meet in WORKSHOP SESSION in the
conference room
at ten a.m. with Mr. Duncan Rose of Parsons Corporation, Tallahassee, Florida,
to discuss GASB-34.)
