AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 7th day of November, 2001, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
MINUTE ORDER #368/01: It being nine
a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of October 29, 2001. He asked if there were any corrections
or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Pendleton Country South Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #369/01: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat for Pendleton Country South Subdivision and
recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously
approved such subdivision and ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2b - McNeese Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #370/01: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat for McNeese Subdivision and recommended
its approval. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such subdivision and
ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2c - Amanda Young Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #371/01: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat for Amanda Young Subdivision and recommended
its approval. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER seconded by, COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved such subdivision and ordered the same filed for
record.
Agenda #2d - Traffic Control Devices
- MINUTE ORDER #372/01: The County Engineer reported
to the Court that he had held a public hearing, as previously advertised,
on the installation of the following traffic control devices on the
previous Monday, to-wit: 1) Install a 55 mph speed limit on Oakalla Road
from Fort Hood to the Bell County Line; 2) Install a yield sign on
Cardinal Drive at Robin Lane (Singing Quail Subdivision); 3) Install
a stop sign on Oliver Road at Three Forks Road. He further stated
that no public comments or complaints were had concerning these matters
and therefore he recommended approval of such installation. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE seconded by, COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, the
Court unanimously approved such installation.
- Agenda #2e - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #373/01: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same
being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.
- Agenda #3 - Appointees to Bell County Historical Commission
- MINUTE ORDER #374/01: JUDGE BURROWS presented the matter of
appointments to the Bell County Historical Commission and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court
unanimously approved all such appointments; the same being attached hereto
and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #4 - Veteran's Day Resolution
- MINUTE ORDER #375/01: Upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved a resolution with respect to Veteran's Day. All
according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #5 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #376/01: There were no claims for
review by the Court.
(The Court then went into Workshop session in the Courts' Conference Room and
the
following transpired with no action being taken on any item, to-wit: 1)
Juvenile Probation
Classroom discussion with the Architect.)
(The Court then recessed its meeting until 9:30 a.m. November 9, 2001,
at which time the
following items of business were addressed in open Court with the following
members present in
open Court, Judge Burrows, Commissioners Cortese and Schiller)
- Agenda #1- Constitutional Amendment Election Canvass
- MINUTE ORDER #377/01: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the tabulation of votes for the November 7, 2001, Constitutional Amendment
Election as provided by the County Clerk and after due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such tabulation and ordered
the same filed for record. All according to a copy of such canvass
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #2 - Canvass of Temple Local Option Election
- MINUTE ORDER #378/01: The County Clerk
presented the tabulation of votes for the November 7, 2001, Local Option in
Temple. After due discussion, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved such tabulation of votes and
ordered the same filed for record. All according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #3 - Declaring Results of Temple Local Option Election
- MINUTE ORDER #379/01: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the Order Declaring the Results of the November 7, 2001, Local Option
Election to determine whether or not the "Legal Sale of Mixed
Beverages in Restaurants by food and beverage certificate holders
Only" shall be legalized. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved such Order, all according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.
(The Court then went into Workshop session in the Courts' Conference Room and
the
only thing discussed with no action being taken was the budget amendments
previously
approved by the Court.
There being no further business, the meeting for the week of November 5,
2001, was adjourned.
