JANUARY  22, 2002


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 22nd day of January, A. D. 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #019/02:  It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of January  14, 2002.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions, there being no corrections, the minutes were approved as submitted.



  2. Agenda #2a - Sale of two Railroad Flat Cars

    • MINUTE ORDER #020/02:  The County Engineer presented the matter of accepting sealed bids for two railroad flat cars which are located on Indian Creek Road.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved setting the 12th day of February at 2 p.m. for the acceptance of sealed bids for the two flat cars.      



  3. Agenda #2b - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #021/02:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms and authorized the amending of the budget for the addition of the Indigent Defense Coordinator position; all according to a copy of such status report forms being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.  



  4. Agenda #3 - Juvenile Accountability Block Grant

                
    • MINUTE ORDER #022/02:  Mr. Earl Lloyd, Chief, Juvenile Probation Department, appeared before the Court to request the passage of a resolution with respect to the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved the aforementioned resolution for such grant in the amount of $98,181.00 with Bell County's matching funds in the amount of $9,318.00.  All according to a copy of such resolution attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.           

       
         

  5. Agenda #4 - Revision of Central Texas Narcotics Task Force Grant

                
    • MINUTE ORDER #023/02:  JUDGE BURROWS explained to the Court that it would be necessary to consider approval of a revised Central Texas Narcotics Task Force Grant due to a change brought about by Milam County's change in personnel from 50% participation to 75% participation thus increasing the grant funds by $9,729.00 and the total amount of the grant from $716,004.00 to $725,733.00.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved such revision.  All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.              

       
         

  6. Agenda #5 - Polling Places for 2002

    • MINUTE ORDER #024/02:  JUDGE BURROWS presented the list of polling place for the use by Bell beginning in the year 2002 and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously ratified and confirmed such polling places.  All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.   



  7. Agenda #6 - Claims

                
    • MINUTE ORDER #025/02:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same on record in the office of the County Auditor. 



      (The Court then went into workshop session with no action being taken on any item on the workshop agenda.)


                   
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
