IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF

JANUARY  28, 2002


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 28th day of January, 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #026/02:  It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of January 22, 2002.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were approved as submitted.



  2. Agenda #2a - Authority to advertise for bids for Road and Bridge

    • MINUTE ORDER #027/02:  The County Engineer presented his request for permission to advertise for bids for the annual purchase of concrete, pit-run gravel, hot mix, cold mix, aggregate, and asphalt (emulsion  and prime).  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved such request.     



  3. Agenda #2b - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #028/02:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.   




  4. Agenda #3 - Annual Report of Bell County Historical Commission

    • MINUTE ORDER #029/02:  Ms. Shirley Holamon, Chairman, Bell County Historical Commission, presented their annual report for 2001; the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. 
          



  5. Agenda #4 - Sheriff's Awards

    • MINUTE ORDER #030/02:  Sheriff Dan Smith presented that Department's annual award for 2001.  A copy of such presentation being attached hereto.        



  6. Agenda #5 - County Judge's Announcement

    • MINUTE ORDER #031/02:  JUDGE BURROWS announced to the Court that Governor Perry had appointed him to the State Task Force for the purpose of establishing permanent rules for the operation by Counties of Senate Bill #7 - Indigent Defense Appointments.   



  7. Agenda #6 - Redistricting Maps

                
    • MINUTE ORDER #032/02:  The Court discussed at length the publication of maps of the new election precincts for year 2002.        

         

       
         
  8. Agenda #7 - Claims

                
    • MINUTE ORDER #033/02:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of  record in the office of the County Auditor. 


                   
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
