FEBRUARY 19, 2002
AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 19th day of February, 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the
following members of said Court present, to-wit:

Agenda #1 - Minutes
Agenda #2a - Public Hearing on Oscar's Acres Replat
- MINUTE ORDER #035/02: JUDGE BURROWS opened
the public hearing for comments on the replat of Oscar's Acres
Subdivision. The County Engineer stated that all land owners had
previously been notified and that three landowners in the subdivision had
expressed concerning about the restrictive covenants in the subdivision
remaining intact. Mr. Jim Blevins, Developer of Oscar's Acres
Subdivision, stated that the restrictive covenants would remain in full
force and effect as previously filed for this subdivision. There
being no further comments, JUDGE BURROWS closed the public
hearing. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved the replat of Oscar's Acres Subdivision and
ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2b - Traffic Control Devices
- MINUTE ORDER #058/02: JUDGE BURROWS opened
a public hearing on the installation of the following traffic control
devices, to-wit: 45 mph speed limit on Oakalla Road from Bell-Burnet
County Line to 0.6 miles north. He asked if there was any public
comment; there being none, the public hearing was closed. After due
discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved such 45 mph speed limit.
Agenda #2c - Annual Road and Bridge Department
Report
- MINUTE ORDER #059/02: County Engineer Macchi
presented the annual report of the work done by the Road and Bridge
Department for the year 2001; all according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. After due
discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER,
the Court unanimously approved such report and ordered the same filed for
record.
Agenda #2d - Flat Car Bids
- MINUTE ORDER #060/02: The County Engineer reported
that bids had been received by the Court from individuals interested in
acquiring 2 railroad flat cars being sold by Bell County. He
reported that the highest bidder was Mr. Ed Spiegelhauer in the aggregate
amount of $2,423.04. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved awarding such bid to Mr. Spiegelhauer in the
stated amount and for the further consideration that the flat cars be
removed by Mr. Spiegelhauer.
- Agenda #2e - King Meadow Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #061/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved the
final plat for King Meadow Subdivision and ordered the same filed for
record.
- Agenda #2f - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #062/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same
being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #3 - Redistrict Plan for 2002
- MINUTE ORDER #063/02: JUDGE BURROWS read
the approval letter of the Justice Department with respect to the approval
of the 2002 Redistricting Plan for Bell County. All according to a
copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
- Agenda #4 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #064/02: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned.
