AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 1st day of July, 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #3 - Pledge of Allegiance Resolution
MINUTE ORDER #243/02: JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order
at nine a.m. and presented a resolution in support of the present Pledge
of Allegiance. After due discussion, upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the
court unanimously approved such resolution, the same being attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes. Thereafter, COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER led the pledge to the flag of the United States of
America.
Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #244/02: JUDGE BURROWS called
to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies
of the minutes of June 24, 2002. He asked if there were any
corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes
were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Bids for Hot Mix Overlay
- MINUTE ORDER #245/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Engineer to advertise
for bids for hot mix overlay for a portion of Moffat and Cedar Ridge Park
Roads.
Agenda #2b - Interlocal Agreement with the City of
Holland
- MINUTE ORDER #246/02: The County Engineer presented
the matter of an interlocal agreement with the City of Holland to mow, on
a one-time basis, the area surrounding their sewage treatment
lagoon. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such agreement with the
cost being approximately $154.42.
Agenda #2c - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #247/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved
all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Bids for Computer Purchases
- MINUTE ORDER #248/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Auditor to seek bids for the
purchase of computers for the District Clerk's Office and the Adult
Probation Department. Such items are budgeted.
Agenda #5 - MOU with Lone Star Legal Aid
- MINUTE ORDER #249/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Judge to execute a Memorandum
of Understand with the Lone Star Legal Aid to provide services to
represent indigent parents in proceedings brought by the Texas Department
of Regulatory and Protective Services upon appointment by the District
Court. All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
Agenda #6 - JJAEP Building Contract Change Orders
- MINUTE ORDER #250/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved a change order in the amount of $5,435.00 (the same
being attached) for the JJAEP education building contract.
Agenda #7 - Amending Communities in Schools Grant
Application for Salado and Rogers ISD
- MINUTE ORDER #251/02: Upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded
by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved the
deleting of paragraph three of the original Grant for Communities in
Schools Program for Rogers ISD and Salado ISD previously approved on
November 19, 2000.
Agenda #8 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #252/02: The County Auditor
presented all claims for the review of the Court. After proper
review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded
by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all
such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of record in
the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into their workshop session to discuss various items on their
workshop agenda
with no action being taken on the same.)
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
